এসপিটি নিউজ, কাঠমান্ডু, ২ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬: ত্রিশূলী নদীর জল নেমে গিয়েছে। কিন্তু নদীর তীরে এখনও রয়ে গিয়েছে ভয়াবহ ধ্বংসের চিহ্ন—ভেঙে পড়া বাড়ি, ছিন্নভিন্ন পরিবার, কাদায় চাপা পড়ে থাকা স্মৃতি আর স্বজন হারানোর অসহ্য যন্ত্রণা। সেই ধ্বংসস্তূপের মাঝেই এবার দাঁড়ালেন বলিউড অভিনেতা ও সমাজসেবী সোনু সুদ। তাঁর বার্তা—নেপাল একা নয়।
বুধবার ত্রিশূলী নদীর তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে নিজের সমাজমাধ্যমে দুটি ছবি প্রকাশ করে সোনু সুদ লিখেছেন, এই নদীর তীর বন্যার পর যে ক্ষত রেখে গিয়েছে, তা অকল্পনীয়। ভেঙে গিয়েছে ঘর, ছিন্ন হয়েছে পরিবার, বদলে গিয়েছে অসংখ্য মানুষের জীবন। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, নেপালের মানুষের পাশে তিনি থাকবেন এবং তাঁদের জীবনে ফের আশার আলো ফিরিয়ে আনার পাশাপাশি ঘর পুনর্নির্মাণ ও পরিবারগুলিকে নতুন করে দাঁড় করানোর জন্য যা কিছু সম্ভব করবেন।
সোনুর এই বার্তা এসেছে এমন এক সময়ে, যখন ত্রিশূলী নদী-উপত্যকার বহু জনপদ এখনও বিপর্যস্ত। গত ২৬ আগস্টের ভয়াবহ আকস্মিক বন্যায় ত্রিশূলী ও ভোতে কোশী নদীর তীরবর্তী বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চল কার্যত ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত হয়েছে। নুয়াকোট, ধাদিং, রাসুয়া-সহ একাধিক এলাকায় ঘরবাড়ি, সেতু, রাস্তা, বিদ্যুৎকেন্দ্র এবং যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে।
কাঠমান্ডু থেকে সরাসরি দুর্গত এলাকায়
সোনু সুদ মঙ্গলবার কাঠমান্ডু পৌঁছন। তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিল মুম্বই থেকে আসা একটি ত্রাণদল। এরপর তিনি কাঠমান্ডুর একটি আশ্রয়কেন্দ্রে থাকা বন্যাদুর্গতদের সঙ্গে দেখা করেন। সেখানে শিশুদের সঙ্গেও সময় কাটান তিনি। পরে বুধবার নুয়াকোটের ভয়াবহভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এলাকায় পৌঁছে সরেজমিনে পরিস্থিতি দেখেন।
স্থানীয় মানুষের সঙ্গে কথা বলে তাঁদের প্রয়োজনের কথা শোনেন তিনি। তাঁর দলের পক্ষ থেকে খাদ্য, চিকিৎসা সহায়তা এবং আশ্রয়ের ব্যবস্থা করার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন সোনু। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, দুর্গত শিবিরগুলিতে থাকা পরিবারের তথ্যও সংগ্রহ করা হচ্ছে, যাতে প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী পরবর্তী সহায়তা পৌঁছে দেওয়া যায়।
কিন্তু সোনুর পরিকল্পনা শুধুমাত্র ত্রাণ বিলির মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়।
“ঘর হারানো মানুষগুলির জন্য ঘর”
নেপালে পৌঁছেই সোনু সুদ একটি দীর্ঘমেয়াদি পুনর্গঠন উদ্যোগের কথা বলেন—“ঘর পুনর্নির্মাণের অঙ্গীকার”। তাঁর বক্তব্য, এই বিপর্যয়ে যাঁরা ঘর হারিয়েছেন, তাঁদের নতুন করে মাথা গোঁজার ঠাঁই তৈরি করে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করতে হবে।
সোনুর কথায়, বিপর্যস্ত মানুষের পাশে দূর থেকে সাহায্য পাঠানোর চেয়ে তাঁদের সামনে গিয়ে দাঁড়ানো, তাঁদের হাত ধরে বলা—“আমরা তোমাদের পাশে আছি”—তার প্রভাব অনেক বেশি।
ত্রিশূলীর তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁর নতুন বার্তাও সেই একই প্রতিশ্রুতিকে আরও স্পষ্ট করেছে—শুধু কয়েক দিনের ত্রাণ নয়, মানুষের জীবনকে আবার স্বাভাবিক পথে ফিরিয়ে আনার চেষ্টা।
ত্রাণের সঙ্গে পুনর্গঠন—কেন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
নেপালের এই বিপর্যয়ে এখন শুধু উদ্ধার নয়, শুরু হয়েছে আরও কঠিন একটি পর্ব—পুনর্গঠন। বহু এলাকায় সেতু ভেসে যাওয়ায় নদীর দুই পাড়ের মানুষের যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে। নুয়াকোটের ত্রিশূলী নদী তীরবর্তী এলাকাতেও বহু মানুষ এখনও আত্মীয়স্বজনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করতে পারছেন না।
বন্যার ধাক্কায় রাস্তা ও সেতু ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হওয়ায় দুর্গম এলাকায় ত্রাণ পৌঁছে দেওয়াও কঠিন হয়ে উঠেছে। কোথাও অস্থায়ী পারাপারের ব্যবস্থা তৈরি করা হচ্ছে, কোথাও বিকল্প রাস্তা দিয়ে যোগাযোগ পুনরুদ্ধারের চেষ্টা চলছে।
এই পরিস্থিতিতে সোনু সুদের মতো একজন পরিচিত সমাজকর্মীর সরাসরি মাঠে নামা মানুষের কাছে শুধু আর্থিক বা বস্তুগত সহায়তার বার্তা নয়—একটি মানসিক আশ্বাসও বহন করছে।
নেপালের পাশে ভারতের মানুষ
নেপালের এই দুর্যোগে ভারতের পক্ষ থেকেও বিভিন্ন ধরনের উদ্ধার ও মানবিক সহায়তা পৌঁছেছে। ভারত ও চীনের বিশেষজ্ঞ দল নেপালের ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত জলবিদ্যুৎকেন্দ্রের সুড়ঙ্গে আটকে পড়া মানুষদের উদ্ধারে কাজ করছে।
সোনু সুদও নেপালে গিয়ে ভারতের সহায়তার প্রশংসা করেছেন। তাঁর বক্তব্য, এই ধরনের সাহায্য কয়েক সপ্তাহ বা কয়েক মাসে থামিয়ে দিলে চলবে না; ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মানুষদের স্বাভাবিক জীবনে ফিরিয়ে আনতে দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে সহযোগিতা প্রয়োজন।
একটি ছবি, একটি প্রতিশ্রুতি
ত্রিশূলীর তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে সোনু সুদের প্রকাশ করা ছবিগুলির পেছনে তাই শুধু একটি ভয়াবহ বন্যার দৃশ্য নেই। রয়েছে মানুষের হারিয়ে যাওয়া জীবনের গল্প।
কারও ঘর নেই।
কারও পরিবার নেই।
কারও কাছে ফিরে যাওয়ার মতো আর কোনও ঠিকানা নেই।
সেই মানুষগুলির সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে সোনু সুদের বার্তা—“নেপাল একা নয়।”
বিপর্যয়ের পর উদ্ধারকাজ একসময় শেষ হবে। ত্রাণশিবিরও একদিন গুটিয়ে যাবে। নদীর জলও স্বাভাবিক হবে। কিন্তু যাঁরা ঘর হারিয়েছেন, তাঁদের জীবন স্বাভাবিক হতে হয়তো লাগবে বহু বছর।
সেই দীর্ঘ পথের শুরুতেই তাই সোনু সুদের প্রতিশ্রুতি—আশা ফিরিয়ে আনা, ঘর ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া এবং ভেঙে যাওয়া পরিবারগুলিকে আবার নতুন করে দাঁড় করানোর চেষ্টা।
ত্রিশূলীর তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁর এই বার্তা হয়তো আজ নেপালের বিপর্যস্ত মানুষের কাছে সবচেয়ে প্রয়োজনীয় কথাটিই মনে করিয়ে দিচ্ছে—
বিপর্যয় মানুষকে ভেঙে দিতে পারে, কিন্তু মানবতা তাকে আবার দাঁড় করাতে পারে।

Actor reaches devastated Trishuli River corridor with relief supplies, vows continued support and rebuilding assistance for affected families

SPT NEWS, KATHMANDU, Sept. 2, 2026 Standing beside Nepal’s Trishuli River, where the force of devastating floods has erased homes and shattered families, Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood delivered a message of solidarity: Nepal is not alone.
Sood, who arrived in Kathmandu with his charity foundation’s relief team and supplies from India, travelled to some of the worst-affected areas, including Nuwakot and Trishuli Bazaar, to see the destruction firsthand and meet survivors.
“Standing here today at the Trishuli River, where the floods have left behind unimaginable loss… broken homes, broken families, and lives changed forever,” Sood wrote in a social media post on Wednesday.
“Nepal is not alone. I stand with its people, and I will do everything I can to bring hope, rebuild homes, and help families begin again.”
His visit comes as Nepal continues to struggle with the aftermath of the Aug. 26 disaster, which devastated communities along the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river corridor.
From relief supplies to rebuilding
Sood arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday carrying food, blankets and other essential supplies. His team said it would continue assessing what affected communities need and work to keep assistance flowing in the coming months.
On Wednesday, he travelled to Nuwakot with a relief team from Mumbai and visited survivors sheltering in Kathmandu before heading towards the flood-hit areas.
At Trishuli Bazaar, one of the worst-affected locations, Sood met local residents and listened to their accounts of the disaster. He said the scale of destruction could only truly be understood by seeing the affected communities in person.
His intervention is also looking beyond immediate relief.
Sood has called for a “Resolve to Build a Home” campaign aimed at helping people who have been left homeless by the floods. He has stressed that assistance cannot stop after the first few weeks because families will need support for a much longer period as they attempt to rebuild their lives.
“Heartbroken people” in relief camps
Speaking from the affected region, Sood described meeting families and survivors as deeply distressing.
He said his team was working on food supplies, medical assistance and shelter and had begun collecting details of affected families to better understand their needs.
For many survivors, however, the crisis extends far beyond the immediate need for food and shelter.
Homes have disappeared. Livelihoods have been disrupted. Roads and bridges have been destroyed. Families continue to search for missing relatives.
That is why Sood’s emphasis on rebuilding carries particular significance.
A message from India to Nepal
Sood also praised India’s assistance to Nepal during the disaster and called for continued support.
After visiting Trishuli Bazaar, he said the recovery would not be resolved in a matter of weeks or months and that assistance would need to continue until affected communities can return to something resembling normal life.
The disaster has already triggered a major international rescue and relief response, with specialist teams from India and China assisting Nepalese authorities, including at critical hydropower sites.
Against that backdrop, Sood’s presence has added another dimension to the response: humanitarian solidarity from across the border.
When the river falls, the rebuilding begins
The waters of the Trishuli will eventually recede.
Roads will be rebuilt.
Bridges will rise again.
Homes may be reconstructed.
But for families who lost relatives, those losses cannot simply be repaired.
For a child who has lost a parent, a new house is not enough.
For a family that has lost its home and livelihood, rebuilding means creating the possibility of a future.
That is the message behind Sood’s visit.
He did not simply send assistance from a distance. He came to the disaster zone, met survivors and looked directly at the destruction.
And standing beside the Trishuli River, he made his promise clear:
Nepal is not alone.
In a disaster that has crossed villages, districts and borders, the actor’s message is ultimately a simple one — humanity does not stop at a border.
