এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা, ৫ নভেম্বর: ধনতেরাসের প্রাক্কালে কলকাতার নিউ মার্কেটের ঐতিহ্যবাহী হগ মার্কেটে পথচলা শুরু করল ভিলাসা জুয়েলার্সের দ্বিতীয় শোরুম। মধ্যবিত্তের সাধ্যের মধ্যে সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যে রূপোর গয়না ও অলঙ্কারের সম্ভার পৌঁছে দেওয়ার লক্ষ্য নিয়ে ব্যবসায়িক যাত্রায় নেমেছেন বর্তমান প্রজন্মের দুই বোন খুশি শাহদাদপুরি ও বিনীতা শাহদাদপুরি। তাঁদের আশা, এবারের দীপাবলিতে রূপোর গয়নার অভিনব সম্ভার সব বয়সের ক্রেতার মন জয় করবে।
এদিন লাল ফিতে কেটে নতুন শোরুমের আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করেন কলকাতার স্থানীয় প্রাক্তন কাউন্সিলর শীলা কাপুর, ট্রাভেল এজেন্টস ফেডারেশন অব ইন্ডিয়ার (টাফি) ইস্টার্ন চ্যাপ্টারের চেয়ারম্যান এবং সিন্ধি পাঞ্জাবি পঞ্চায়েত ও বিশ্ব সিন্ধি সেবা সঙ্গমের (পূর্ব) সভাপতি অনিল পাঞ্জাবি। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিন্ধি সমাজের বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্ব হরিশ মেথারামানি ও শ্যাম মাইথানি-সহ অন্যান্য অতিথিরা।
নতুন সাজে সেজে উঠেছে হগ মার্কেটের ভিতরে অবস্থিত ভিলাসা জুয়েলার্সের এই শোরুম। রূপোর গয়নাকে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হলেও এখানে রয়েছে সোনা ও হীরের অলঙ্কারও। ব্রেসলেট, বিভিন্ন নকশার কানের দুল, গলার হার, চেন-সহ নানা ধরনের গয়নার পাশাপাশি ঘরের নিত্যব্যবহারের জন্য রূপোর তৈরি সামগ্রীরও সম্ভার সাজানো হয়েছে। বিশেষ আকর্ষণ, মাত্র ৫০০ টাকা থেকেই শুরু হচ্ছে গয়নার দাম। শোরুমের অন্যতম কর্ণধার বিনীতা শাহদাদপুরি জানান, সরু রূপোর চেনের দাম শুরু হচ্ছে প্রায় ১,৪০০ থেকে ১,৫০০ টাকা থেকে। ক্রেতাদের পছন্দ ও চাহিদা অনুযায়ী গয়না পাওয়ার ব্যবস্থাও রয়েছে।
ধনতেরাস উপলক্ষে কেনাকাটার উপর থাকছে আকর্ষণীয় পুরস্কারের ব্যবস্থাও। উদ্বোধনের প্রথম দিনেই শোরুমে ক্রেতা ও দর্শনার্থীদের উপস্থিতি ছিল চোখে পড়ার মতো। অনেকেই গয়না কেনার পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন নকশা ঘুরে দেখেন এবং দাম সম্পর্কে খোঁজখবর নেন। তাঁদের কথাবার্তায় স্পষ্ট, রূপোর অলঙ্কার কেনার বিষয়ে আগ্রহ বাড়ছে নতুন প্রজন্মের মধ্যেও। বিশেষ করে তরুণ-তরুণীদের উপস্থিতি ছিল উল্লেখযোগ্য।
উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রাক্তন কাউন্সিলর শীলা কাপুর বলেন, ধনতেরাসের ঠিক আগে এমন একটি নতুন উদ্যোগের সূচনা অত্যন্ত শুভ। দুই তরুণী তাঁদের নিজস্ব উদ্যোগে গয়নার শোরুম শুরু করেছেন, যা প্রশংসনীয়। শোরুমে রূপোর তৈরি অত্যন্ত সুন্দর ও আকর্ষণীয় অলঙ্কারের সম্ভার রয়েছে। বর্তমানে তরুণ প্রজন্মের মধ্যে রূপোর গয়নার জনপ্রিয়তা বাড়ছে। তাই তিনি নতুন প্রজন্মের ক্রেতাদের এই শোরুমে এসে সংগ্রহগুলি দেখার আহ্বান জানান। তাঁর বিশ্বাস, এখানকার গয়না সকলেরই পছন্দ হবে।
সিন্ধি সমাজের বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্ব শ্যাম মাইথানিও নতুন উদ্যোগের প্রশংসা করেন। তাঁর কথায়, শোরুমটি অত্যন্ত সুন্দরভাবে সাজানো হয়েছে। নিউ মার্কেটের মতো ব্যস্ত ও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিপণি এলাকায় এই শোরুম ক্রেতাদের নজর কাড়বে বলেই তাঁর বিশ্বাস। এখানকার গয়নার সম্ভারও সকলের পছন্দ হবে বলে তিনি আশাবাদী।
অন্যদিকে, টাফির ইস্টার্ন চ্যাপ্টারের চেয়ারম্যান ও সিন্ধি পাঞ্জাবি পঞ্চায়েতের সভাপতি অনিল পাঞ্জাবি বলেন, সিন্ধি সমাজের দুই তরুণীর এই উদ্যোগ অত্যন্ত প্রশংসনীয়। তাঁদের বাবা দুই মেয়ের ভবিষ্যতের কথা ভেবেই এই শোরুম গড়ে দিয়েছেন। তবে দুই বোনই যথেষ্ট প্রতিভাবান এবং নিজেদের দক্ষতা ও প্রচেষ্টায় এই ব্যবসাকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে সক্ষম হবেন বলে তিনি আশাবাদী। সমাজের সকলের কাছে তাঁর আবেদন, এই দুই তরুণীর নতুন ব্যবসায়িক যাত্রায় পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁদের উৎসাহিত করা হোক।
শোরুমের অন্যতম কর্ণধার বিনীতা শাহদাদপুরি জানান, তাঁদের সংগ্রহে শুধু রূপোর গয়নাই নয়, রয়েছে সোনা ও হীরের অলঙ্কারও। সব বয়সের মানুষের কথা মাথায় রেখেই সাজানো হয়েছে এই সম্ভার। বিভিন্ন দামের গয়না থাকায় ক্রেতারা নিজেদের সাধ্য ও পছন্দ অনুযায়ী কেনাকাটা করতে পারবেন। তিনি আরও জানান, হগ মার্কেটের এ-২৭ নম্বর স্টলে অবস্থিত এই শোরুমে ক্রেতাদের পছন্দ অনুযায়ী গয়না বেছে নেওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে।
সব মিলিয়ে, ধনতেরাসের আগের দিন নিউ মার্কেটের হগ মার্কেটে ভিলাসা জুয়েলার্সের দ্বিতীয় শোরুমের উদ্বোধন শুধু একটি নতুন ব্যবসায়িক উদ্যোগের সূচনা নয়, বরং রূপোর গয়নাকে নতুন প্রজন্মের আরও কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার একটি প্রয়াস। সাশ্রয়ী দাম, নিত্যনতুন নকশা এবং সব বয়সের ক্রেতার জন্য নানা ধরনের সংগ্রহ নিয়ে উৎসবের মরসুমে কতটা সাড়া ফেলতে পারে এই নতুন শোরুম, এখন সেটাই দেখার।

Vilasa Jewellers Opens Its Second Showroom at New Market Ahead of Dhanteras, Bringing Affordable Silver Jewellery to the Fore
SPT News, Kolkata, 5 November, 2026: Kolkata’s iconic New Market witnessed the launch of a new jewellery destination ahead of Dhanteras, as Vilasa Jewellers officially inaugurated its second showroom at Hogg Market. With a vision of making beautiful silver jewellery accessible at affordable prices, two young entrepreneurs, sisters Khushi Shahdadpuri and Binita Shahdadpuri, have stepped forward with an exciting collection aimed at customers across all age groups. They are hopeful that their jewellery collection will win hearts this Diwali.
The showroom was formally inaugurated by cutting the ribbon in the presence of former local councillor Sheila Kapoor, Anil Punjabi, Chairman of the Eastern Chapter of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) and President of the Sindhi Punjabi Panchayat and Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam (East). Noted members of the Sindhi community, including Harish Metharamani and Shyam Maithani, were also present on the occasion.
Located inside Hogg Market, the newly designed showroom has an attractive collection of jewellery and silverware. While silver jewellery remains the primary focus, customers can also explore gold and diamond ornaments. The collection includes bracelets, a wide variety of earrings, necklaces, chains and several other fashionable accessories. Silver articles for everyday household use are also available.
One of the major attractions is the affordable price range, with jewellery starting at just Rs. 500. According to Binita Shahdadpuri, one of the owners, delicate silver chains are available at approximately Rs. 1,400–1,500. The showroom also aims to cater to individual preferences, offering jewellery to suit customers’ specific choices and requirements.
To celebrate Dhanteras, the showroom is also offering attractive gifts and prizes on purchases. The first day witnessed encouraging footfall, with a considerable number of visitors exploring the collection. Although not everyone came with the intention of purchasing immediately, many showed keen interest in the designs, enquired about prices and expressed their intention to return for purchases.
Interestingly, a significant proportion of the visitors belonged to the younger generation. Their enthusiasm for silver ornaments reflected a growing interest among young customers in contemporary silver jewellery.
Speaking at the inauguration, former councillor Sheila Kapoor described the launch as an auspicious beginning ahead of Dhanteras. Congratulating the two young entrepreneurs, she said that the showroom had an impressive collection of beautifully designed silver ornaments. She also observed that silver jewellery was becoming increasingly popular among young people and encouraged them to visit the showroom and explore its collections. She expressed confidence that customers would appreciate the designs on offer.
Shyam Maithani, another prominent member of the Sindhi community, praised the new showroom and extended his best wishes to the owners. He described the establishment as beautifully designed and expressed confidence that its location inside New Market would help it attract considerable attention. He also hoped that customers would appreciate the jewellery collection.
Anil Punjabi, Chairman of TAFI’s Eastern Chapter and President of the Sindhi Punjabi Panchayat, highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of the two sisters. He said that the initiative was particularly encouraging within the Sindhi community. Their father had established the showroom with the intention of creating an opportunity for his two daughters. However, he added that both sisters were talented and capable of building the business through their own dedication and hard work. He appealed to members of the Sindhi community to support and encourage the young entrepreneurs in their new business journey.
Speaking about the collection, Binita Shahdadpuri said that the showroom offers silver jewellery alongside gold and diamond ornaments. The collection has been carefully selected to suit customers of different age groups and budgets. With prices starting from Rs. 500, the showroom aims to make attractive jewellery accessible to a wider section of society. Customers can also explore designs according to their individual preferences.
