এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা, ২৭ নভেম্বর : ট্রাভেল এজেন্টস ফেডারেশন অব ইন্ডিয়া (টাফি)-র ইস্টার্ন ইন্ডিয়া (পূর্ব ভারত) চ্যাপ্টারের নয়া চেয়ারম্যান নিযুক্ত হলেন অনিল পাঞ্জাবি। গত দু’বছরেরও বেশি সময় ধরে তিনি টাফি’র ন্যাশনাল কমিটির মেম্বার হিসাবে টাফি’র কাজকর্ম দেখভাল করছিলেন। টাফি’র ন্যাশনাল কমিটি অবশেষে তার কাজে সন্তুষ্ট হয়ে অনিল পাঞ্জাবিকেই চেয়ারম্যান করে পূর্ব ভারতের দায়িত্ব তুলে দিয়েছে।
মুম্বই থেকে টাফি’র প্রেসিডেন্ট আব্বাস মোইজ এবং ন্যাশনাল জেনারেল সেক্রেটারি হিতাঙ্ক শাহ আজ ২৭ নভেম্বর কলকাতায় উপস্থিত থেকেই অনিল পাঞ্জাবির হাতে দায়িত্ব তুলে দেন। সঙ্গে ছিলেন টাফি’র ম্যানেজিং কমিটির মেম্বার শামিম আহমেদ শাহ। তারা একই সঙ্গে পূর্ব ভারতের নয়া চেয়ারম্যান হিসাবে অনিল পাঞ্জাবির নাম ঘোষণা করেন। টাফি’র প্রেসিডেন্ট আব্বাস মোইজ আশা প্রকাশ করে বলেন- “ অনিল পাঞ্জাবি টাফি’র নির্দেশিত পথেই পূর্ব ভারত বিশেষ করে যার মধ্যে পরছে সেভেন সিস্টার্স অর্থাৎ আসাম, ত্রিপুরা, মেঘালয়, মিজোরাম, নাগাল্যান্ড, মণিপুর এবং অরুণাচল প্রদেশের পর্যটনের প্রসারে কাজ করার পাশপাশি টাফি’র কার্যকলাপকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।
প্রেসিডেন্ট আব্বাস মোইজের কথার রেশ ধরে এদিন নয়া চেয়ারম্যান অনিল পাঞ্জাবি আশ্বস্ত করে বলেন- “ এখানে অনেক কাজ করার সুযোগ আছে। আমি আগেও কাজ করেছি। এখন জায়গা আরও বড় হয়েছে। সেভবেন সিস্টার্স নিয়ে খুব ভাল্ভাবে কাজ করতে হবে। আগামিদিনে অনেক কিছু করার পরিকল্পনা আছে, এখন থেকেই তা শুরু করতে হবে।
এদিন চেয়ারম্যান ছাড়া টাফি’র ইস্টার্ন চ্যাপ্টারের কমিটিএ বাকি সব সদস্যরা একই রয়ে গিয়েছেন। সেই মতো সেক্রেতারি হিসাবে অভিজিৎ ধর এবনহ ট্রাজারার হিসাবে অনিতা গুপ্তই দায়িত্বে আছেন।
Anil Punjabi is the new chairman of TAFI’s Eastern India Chapter

SPT News, Kolkata, November 27: Anil Punjabi has been appointed as the new chairman of the Eastern India (Purpur Bharat) Chapter of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI). For the past two years, he has been looking after the work of TAFI as a member of the National Committee of TAFI. Finally, the National Committee of TAFI, satisfied with his work, has handed over the responsibility of Eastern India to Anil Punjabi.
TAFI President Abbas Moiz and National General Secretary Hitank Shah from Mumbai handed over the responsibility to Anil Punjabi in Kolkata today, November 27. TAFI Managing Committee Member Shamim Ahmed Shah was present. They also announced the name of Anil Punjabi as the new chairman of Eastern India. TAFI President Abbas Moiz expressed hope that Anil Punjabi will work on the path indicated by TAFI to promote tourism in Eastern India, especially in the Seven Sisters region, namely Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, and will also take TAFI’s activities forward.
Following the words of President Abbas Moiz, the new Chairman Anil Punjabi assured that there is a lot of work to be done here. I have worked before. Now the space has become bigger. We have to work very well with the Seven Sisters. There are many plans to do in the future, we have to start it now.
Except for the Chairman, all the other members of the Eastern Chapter of TAFI’s committee have remained the same. Similarly, Abhijit Dhar is the secretary and Anita Gupta is the treasurer.
