এসপিটি নিউজ, লেহ, লাদাখ: ভারতের উচ্চতম ও দুর্গম পার্বত্য অঞ্চলগুলির অন্যতম নুব্রা উপত্যকায় বিমান যোগাযোগের নতুন সম্ভাবনা তৈরি হয়েছে। লাদাখের থোইস বিমানবন্দর থেকে আগামী ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে অসামরিক বিমান পরিষেবা চালুর প্রস্তুতি এগোচ্ছে বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে ইঙ্গিত মিলেছে। একই সঙ্গে কার্গিল বিমানবন্দর থেকেও বাণিজ্যিক অসামরিক উড়ান চালুর উদ্যোগ সামনে এসেছে।
এই পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়িত হলে লাদাখের দূরবর্তী অঞ্চলগুলির যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থায় উল্লেখযোগ্য পরিবর্তন আসতে পারে। বর্তমানে নুব্রা উপত্যকায় পৌঁছতে পর্যটকদের মূলত লেহ থেকে দীর্ঘ ও উচ্চ পার্বত্য সড়কপথ অতিক্রম করতে হয়। আবহাওয়া ও রাস্তার পরিস্থিতির কারণে বছরের বিভিন্ন সময়ে সেই যাত্রা কঠিন হয়ে ওঠে।
থোইস থেকে অসামরিক বিমান পরিষেবা চালু হলে নুব্রা উপত্যকায় পৌঁছনোর সময় কমার পাশাপাশি পর্যটকদের জন্য বিকল্প যোগাযোগের সুযোগ তৈরি হতে পারে। বিশেষ করে বয়স্ক পর্যটক, সীমিত সময়ের ভ্রমণকারী এবং কঠিন সড়কযাত্রা এড়িয়ে লাদাখের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চল দেখতে আগ্রহীদের কাছে নতুন এই বিমান সংযোগ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
কার্গিল বিমানবন্দরেও অসামরিক উড়ান পরিষেবা চালুর প্রস্তুতি একই সঙ্গে এগোচ্ছে। কার্গিল ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্বের পাশাপাশি লাদাখের পর্যটন মানচিত্রে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কেন্দ্র। বিমান যোগাযোগ শুরু হলে ওই অঞ্চলের পর্যটন, স্থানীয় ব্যবসা এবং পরিষেবা ক্ষেত্র নতুন গতি পেতে পারে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।
পর্যটন শিল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্তদের মতে, লেহ-কেন্দ্রিক ভ্রমণের বাইরে নুব্রা ও কার্গিলের মতো অঞ্চলগুলিতে সহজ বিমান যোগাযোগ চালু হলে লাদাখে পর্যটনের বিস্তার আরও ভারসাম্যপূর্ণ হতে পারে। এর ফলে স্থানীয় হোটেল, হোমস্টে, পরিবহণ, খাদ্য পরিষেবা এবং ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসার ক্ষেত্রেও নতুন সুযোগ তৈরি হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।
তবে অসামরিক উড়ান পরিষেবা চালুর আগে নিরাপত্তা, পরিকাঠামো, আবহাওয়াজনিত চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং বিমান চলাচল সংক্রান্ত প্রয়োজনীয় অনুমোদনের বিষয়গুলি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে। চূড়ান্ত সূচি, বিমান সংস্থা এবং পরিষেবার ধরন সম্পর্কে আনুষ্ঠানিক ঘোষণা এখনও প্রত্যাশিত।
যদি ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে পরিকল্পনা বাস্তব রূপ পায়, তবে তা শুধু লাদাখের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার জন্য নয়, ভারতের উচ্চ হিমালয় অঞ্চলের পর্যটন অর্থনীতির জন্যও একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচনা করতে পারে।

Nubra Valley Eyes Civil Air Connectivity as Thoise and Kargil Prepare for New Services
SPT NEWS, LEH, LADAKH — India’s remote Himalayan region of Ladakh could see a significant expansion in air connectivity, with civil flight operations from Thoise Airport in the Nubra Valley expected to begin as early as December, while preparations are also advancing for civilian services from Kargil Airport.
The proposed connectivity could improve access to some of Ladakh’s most remote destinations and reshape travel patterns in a region where road journeys are often long, weather-dependent and challenging.
Nubra Valley, known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, high-altitude desert and distinctive cultural heritage, is currently accessed primarily by road from Leh. The journey involves crossing some of the world’s highest motorable mountain routes and can be affected by snowfall, adverse weather and road conditions.
The introduction of civil flights at Thoise could provide tourists with a faster alternative and make the region more accessible to travellers with limited time or those unable to undertake demanding road journeys.
Parallel efforts to introduce civilian flight services at Kargil Airport could further broaden Ladakh’s connectivity. Kargil, which carries major historical significance and serves as an important gateway to western Ladakh, could benefit from increased tourism and improved access for residents and businesses.
Tourism industry observers say the expansion of air connectivity beyond Leh could help distribute visitor traffic more evenly across Ladakh, opening new opportunities for hotels, homestays, transport operators, restaurants and small businesses.
The proposed services, however, will depend on operational readiness, infrastructure, weather conditions, security requirements and regulatory clearances. Authorities are yet to announce final schedules, participating airlines or the nature and frequency of the proposed operations.
If the December target is achieved, the launch of civil air services could mark an important step in connecting Ladakh’s remote Himalayan destinations more directly with the wider domestic aviation network — and open a new chapter for tourism in one of India’s most spectacular high-altitude regions.
