এসপিটি নিউজ: ভারতের পর্যটন ও আন্তর্জাতিক যাতায়াত ব্যবস্থায় এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ নিল ভারত সরকার। বিদেশি পর্যটক ও ব্যবসায়ীদের সুবিধা বাড়াতে দেশের ই-ভিসা (e-Visa) ব্যবস্থায় নতুন করে ১৪টি সমুদ্রবন্দরকে এন্ট্রি পয়েন্ট হিসেবে যুক্ত করা হয়েছে। এর ফলে এখন মোট প্রায় ৭০টি এন্ট্রি পয়েন্ট—এয়ারপোর্ট, সমুদ্রবন্দর এবং স্থলসীমান্ত—দিয়ে বিদেশিরা সহজেই ভারতে প্রবেশ করতে পারবেন।
এই সিদ্ধান্তকে ভারতের পর্যটন শিল্পে এক যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে। বিশেষ করে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রুজ ট্যুরিজমের ক্ষেত্রে এর প্রভাব অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হতে চলেছে। এতদিন সীমিত সংখ্যক বন্দরে ই-ভিসা সুবিধা থাকায় অনেক আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রুজ রুট ভারতকে এড়িয়ে চলত। কিন্তু নতুন বন্দরের সংযোজনের ফলে এখন বড় বড় আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রুজ লাইনার সহজেই ভারতের বিভিন্ন উপকূলীয় শহরে যাত্রী নামাতে পারবে।
পর্যটন বিশেষজ্ঞদের মতে, এই উদ্যোগের ফলে ভারতের উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলগুলিতে পর্যটনের প্রসার দ্রুত বাড়বে। গোয়া, কোচি, মুম্বই বা চেন্নাইয়ের মতো জনপ্রিয় গন্তব্যের পাশাপাশি অপেক্ষাকৃত কম পরিচিত উপকূলীয় শহরগুলিও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যটনের মানচিত্রে উঠে আসার সুযোগ পাবে। স্থানীয় অর্থনীতি, হোটেল-রিসোর্ট, পরিবহন ও হস্তশিল্প শিল্পেও এর ইতিবাচক প্রভাব পড়বে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।
শুধু পর্যটনই নয়, আন্তর্জাতিক ব্যবসা ও বাণিজ্যের ক্ষেত্রেও এই পদক্ষেপ বিশেষ তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। সহজ ই-ভিসা এন্ট্রি পয়েন্ট থাকার ফলে বিদেশি বিনিয়োগকারী, ব্যবসায়ী ও কর্পোরেট প্রতিনিধিদের যাতায়াত আরও দ্রুত ও ঝামেলামুক্ত হবে। এতে ‘Ease of Doing Business’-এর ক্ষেত্রেও ভারতের অবস্থান আরও মজবুত হতে পারে।
বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের সঙ্গে সংযোগ বাড়ানোর ক্ষেত্রে ই-ভিসা ব্যবস্থার এই সম্প্রসারণ একটি কৌশলগত পদক্ষেপ বলেই মনে করছেন বিশ্লেষকরা। বিশেষ করে post-pandemic যুগে যখন পর্যটন শিল্প আবার ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর চেষ্টা করছে, তখন এমন উদ্যোগ আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যটকদের কাছে ভারতকে আরও আকর্ষণীয় গন্তব্য হিসেবে তুলে ধরবে।
সব মিলিয়ে, নতুন ১৪টি সমুদ্রবন্দর যুক্ত হওয়ার ফলে ভারতের পর্যটন, ব্যবসা এবং বৈদেশিক সংযোগ—তিন ক্ষেত্রেই এক নতুন সম্ভাবনার দরজা খুলে গেল। এখন নজর থাকবে, এই সুযোগকে কতটা কার্যকরভাবে কাজে লাগাতে পারে দেশ।

India Expands e-Visa Entry Network: 14 Seaports Added, Boost for Cruise Tourism & Global Connectivity
SPT News: In a significant move to strengthen its global tourism and business ecosystem, the Government of India has expanded its e-Visa framework by adding 14 new seaports as designated entry points for foreign nationals. With this update, India now offers nearly 70 authorized immigration checkpoints, including airports, seaports, and land borders.
This strategic expansion is expected to unlock new opportunities, particularly in the cruise tourism sector. Previously, limited port access under the e-Visa scheme posed operational challenges for international cruise liners. The inclusion of additional seaports now allows global cruise operators to incorporate multiple Indian coastal destinations into their itineraries with greater ease.
Tourism experts believe this initiative will significantly enhance India’s appeal as a cruise destination. Established hotspots such as Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, and Chennai are likely to see increased international footfall, while lesser-known coastal regions could emerge as new tourism hubs.
