আমাদের এত খ্যাতি হয়েছে যে রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘ আমাদের ডাকছে

এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা, ১৭ জুলাই : আজ থেকে সময়ের ব্যবধান ১০ বছর। এর মধ্যে অনেক ঘটনার সাক্ষী থেকেছে এই অ্যাসোসিয়েশন। আজ তারা দেশের গণ্ডি ছাড়িয়ে বিদেশেও ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। কিভাবে এই অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের জন্ম হয়েছে সম্প্রতি কলকাতায় সেই সব কথাই তুলে ধরেন অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বুদ্ধিস্ট ট্যুর অপারেটর্স বা এবিটিও-র মহাসচিব ড. কৌলেশ কুমার। তিনি বলেন- “আমাদের এত খ্যাতি হয়েছে যে রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘ আমাদের ডাকছে। এই মুহূর্তে আমরা ২৫টি দেশে আছি।“
জন্মলগ্নের সেইদিনের কথা স্মরণ করতে গিয়ে কৌলেশ কুমার বলেন- “আমার কাছে খবর ছিল যে নেপালে আজ ধর্মঘট । কুশিনগর দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলাম। আমার সঙ্গে ছিলেন দুই মালয়েশিয়ান বুদ্ধিস্ট। কিভাবে তাদের নেপাল বর্ডার পর্যন্ত নিয়ে যাব ভাবছিলাম। আমরা বর্ডার ক্রস করে ভগবান বুদ্ধের জন্মস্থানের ভূমি প্রণাম করে চলে আসব ঠিক করেছিলাম। এটা ২০১৪ সালের ঘটনা যখন মাওবাদী কার্যকলাপ চলছে। আমি তখন পয়সা খরচ করে সেখানে চলে গিয়েছি। গিয়ে দেখি সেখানে কয়েকজন হাতে কাপড় নিয়ে নাড়াচ্ছে। আমি তখন প্রশাসনের কাছে অনুরোধ করি যে স্যার আমার অতিথিদের অন্তত পার তো হতে দিন। তারা আমাকে বলে যে এখন যদি আমরা এর মধ্যে হস্তক্ষেপ করি তাহলে দাঙ্গা হতে পারে। এ কথা শুনে ওই দুই মালয়েশিয়ান বুদ্ধিস্ট মহিলা কেঁদে ফেলেন। চোখে জল এসে যায় আমারও। ওই স্থানে দাঁড়িয়ে আমার সেদিন মনে হয়েছিল- আমরা তো এই বুদ্ধিস্ট সার্কিটে আছি। তাহলে কেন আমরা একটা অ্যাসোসিয়েশন করতে পারি না। আজ যদি এখানে একটা অ্যাসোসিয়েশন থাকত তাহলে এখনই ফোন করে আমার অতিথিকে ভিতরে প্রবেশ করাতে পারতাম। কিন্তু সেটা তখন হয়নি। ২০২১৫ সালে নেপালের পর্যটন মন্ত্রী এই অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের উদ্বোধন করেন। এরপর তা জাপানে প্রশস্ত হয়। এরপর আমাদের যাত্রা শুরু হয়। আজ তা চলছে। এখানে কোনও পয়সা নেই। মিনিস্ট্রি আমাদের দেয়। আমরা এত কাজ করি তাই।“
“একবার নেপালের প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে অনুরোধ করা হয়েছিল যে তিনি যদি লুম্বিনি আসেন। তিনি আসবেনও বলেছিলেন। তখন অনেকেই বলেছিলেন যে তিনি আসবেন না। ফের ২০১৬ সালে ১৬টি অ্যাসোসিয়েশান মিলে বুদ্ধ পূর্ণিমা উদযাপন করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি । আমরাও ছিলাম। এভাবেই আমরা এগিয়ে চলেছি। আজ ছয় বছর হয়েছে আমি ভারতের পর্যটন মন্ত্রকের ন্যাশনাল ট্যুরিজম অ্যাডভাইজারি কাউন্সিলের মেম্বার। এটা একটা বড় অর্জন আমাদের কাছে। থাইল্যান্ড, মালয়েশিয়া, সিঙ্গাপুর গেলে সাইন হয়। আমরা নেপালে গিয়েছি সেখানেও আমাদের অ্যাসোসিয়েশন বেড়েছে। আমাদের চিন ও পাকিস্তানের মাঝে রাখা হয়েছে। পাকিস্তানে একটা অ্যাসোসিয়েশন আছে, পাটো- পাকিস্তান অফ অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অফ ট্যুর অপারেটর্স (পিএটিও) যারা তক্ষশিলায় দারুন কাজ করছে। তাদের সাথেও আমরা মউ স্বাক্ষর করেছি। তারা বলেছে যে তাদের আমরা যুক্ত করতে পারি। আমরা কালচারাল প্রমোশনের কাজ করছি। বাংলাদেশে প্রথমবার মিউজিয়ামে ‘নমঃ বুদ্ধায় ‘ প্রদর্শন করা হয়েছে। নেপাল অনেক চেষ্টা করছে। শ্রীলঙ্কাও এগিয়েছে। আমরা বলেছি নেপাল-ভারতের সঙ্গে শ্রীলঙ্কাকে যুক্ত করে রামায়ন সার্কিট ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্তরে যদি করতে পারি। এভাবেই আমরা এগিয়ে চলেছি। এখানে কেউ জানতে চায় না যে আপনি মেম্বার কিনা। আপনি একজন পর্যটন ক্ষেত্রের মানুষ। চলে আসুন। আমাদের একটা লোগো আছে। মিশন-ভিশন আছে- ‘ওয়ান ওয়ার্ল্ড, ওয়ান ট্যুরিজম’।“ যোগ করেন কৌলেশ কুমার।
তিনি বলতে থাকেন- “আমাদের কাছে যে তথ্য আসে তা অপরকে দিয়ে থাকি। তা তিনি মেম্বার হন কিংবা না হন। আমরা ট্যুরিজমের জন্য কাজ করি। একবার বুদ্ধিস্ট সার্কিটের বিষয়ে আমাকে থাইল্যান্ড হাইকমিশন থেকে ডেকেছিল। তিনি বলেন- তোমরা তো জিজ্ঞাসা করো না কেমন লাগছে এই জায়গা। জানতে চাই- কি হয়েছে স্যার? তিনি বলেন- একজন হাইপ্রোফাইল ব্যক্তি ভ্রমণ করে এসেছেন বুদ্ধ গয়া। তিনি তার প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়েছেন । আমি জানিয়েছি যে এরকম আজ আর নেই। এখন বুদ্ধ গয়া অনেক পরিষ্কার। এভাবে আমরা ভিয়েত্নামের সাথেও মউ স্বাক্ষর করেছি।“
কিছুটা আবেগতাড়িত হয়ে কৌলেশ কুমার বলে চলেন- “কম্বোডিয়া, থাইল্যান্ডে ছোট ছোট জায়গা আছে কেউ জানে না কিন্তু তা আজ ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজের তালিকায় স্থান পেয়েছে। আমরা এবিটিও এ বিষয়ে কাজ করে চলেছি। বহু জায়গা থেকে আমাদের প্রত্যাখান করেছে। কোনও ব্যাপার নয়। বড় বড় অ্যাসোসিয়েশন আছে। আপনাদের জানিয়ে রাখি এই মুহূর্তে আমরা ২৫টি দেশে আছি। এবার টিটিএফ কলকাতায় আমাদের প্যাভেলিয়নে ফিলিপিন্স, ভুটান, থাইল্যান্ডের কন্স্যুলেট এসেছেন। এমনকি, মালদ্বীপের কন্স্যুলেট এসেছিলেন এবিটিও-তে। তিনি জানিয়ে গিয়েছেন – আপনারা তো দারুন কাজ করছেন। সাত কনস্যুলেটের সাথে আমি টিটিএফ-এ দেখা করেছি। তারা বলেছেন যে কিভাবে আমরা আপনাদের সাথে যুক্ত হব। যেভাবে আমাদের অ্যাসোসিয়েশন-এর বৃদ্ধি হচ্ছে তা খুবই আনন্দের, এবিটিও ‘নালন্দা দ্য ওয়ার্ল্ড’-এ গিয়েছি। আমাদের এখন এতটা খ্যাতি হয়েছে যে ইউনাইটেড নেশন এখন ডাকছে। আমরা এক রয়েছি। ঐক্যবদ্ধ রয়েছি। ওয়ান ওয়ার্ল্ড, ওয়ান ট্যুরিজম এই আমাদের স্লোগান। সব ধরনের সংস্কৃতিকে সম্মান করুন।

SPT News, Kolkata, July 17: Today, it has been 10 years since then. During this time, this association has witnessed many events. Today, they have spread beyond the borders of the country and abroad. How this association was born was recently explained in Kolkata by the Secretary General of the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators or ABTO, Dr. Kaulesh Kumar. He said- “We have become so famous that the United Nations is calling us. Right now, we are in 25 countries.”
Recalling the day of his birth, Kaulesh Kumar said, “I had news that there was a strike in Nepal today. I was passing through Kushinagar. I had two Malaysian Buddhists with me. I was thinking about how I would take them to the Nepal border. We decided to cross the border and pay homage to the birthplace of Lord Buddha. This was in 2014 when Maoist activities were going on. I had spent money and gone there. When I went there, I saw some people waving cloths in their hands. I then requested the administration that sir, at least let my guests cross. They told me that if we interfere now, there might be a riot. Hearing this, the two Malaysian Buddhist women cried. Tears came to my eyes too. Standing at that place, I thought that day – we are in this Buddhist circuit. So why can’t we form an association. If there was an association here today, I could have called right away and let my guest in. But that didn’t happen then. In 2015, the Minister of Tourism of Nepal He inaugurated the association. Then it expanded to Japan. Then our journey began. Today it continues. There is no money here. The ministry gives us. That is why we do so much work.”
“Once, the Prime Minister of Nepal was requested to come to Lumbini. He said he would come. At that time, many said he would not come. Again in 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Buddha Purnima with 16 associations. We were also there. This is how we are moving forward. Today, I have been a member of the National Tourism Advisory Council of the Ministry of Tourism of India for six years. This is a big achievement for us. When we go to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, we get signed. We have gone to Nepal and our association has also increased there. We have been placed between China and Pakistan. There is an association in Pakistan, PATO- Pakistan Association of Tour Operators (PATO) who are doing great work in Takshashila. We have also signed an MoU with them. They said that we can involve them. We are working on cultural promotion. For the first time in Bangladesh, ‘Namha Buddha’ has been displayed in a museum. Nepal is trying a lot. Sri Lanka has also moved forward. We have said that Nepal-India If we can do the Ramayana Circuit at the international level by including Sri Lanka. This is how we are moving forward. Here, no one wants to know whether you are a member or not. You are a person in the tourism sector. Come on. We have a logo. We have a mission-vision – ‘One World, One Tourism’.” added Kaulesh Kumar.
He continued – “We give the information that comes to us to others. Whether he is a member or not. We work for tourism. Once, I was called by the Thailand High Commission regarding the Buddhist Circuit. He said – Don’t ask how this place is. I want to know – what happened sir? He said – a high-profile person has visited Buddha Gaya. He gave his reaction. I told him that it is no longer like this. Now Buddha Gaya is very clean. In this way, we have also signed an MoU with Vietnam.”
Feeling a little emotional, Kaulesh Kumar continued, “There are small places in Cambodia and Thailand that no one knows about, but today they have been included in the World Heritage List. We, ABTO, have been working on this. We have been rejected by many places. It doesn’t matter. There are big associations. Let me tell you that we are currently in 25 countries. This time, the consulates of the Philippines, Bhutan, and Thailand have come to our pavilion at TTF Kolkata. Even the consulate of Maldives came to ABTO. He said – you are doing a great job. I met seven consulates at TTF. They said how we can connect with you. It is very happy how our association is growing, ABTO has also gone to ‘Nalanda the World’. We have now gained so much fame that the United Nations is now calling us. We are one. We are united. One World, One Tourism is our motto. Slogan: Respect all cultures.
