SPT News, Mumbai, May 22: West Bengal President of Viswa Sindhi Seva Sangam, Anil Punjabi has been carrying out various programs for the betterment of the Sindhi community since assuming office. On Sunday, he met the organization’s international president, Dr. Raju Manwani, in Mumbai. He discussed various aspects of the community with him there.
Anil Punjabi told SPT that he had a meeting with International President Raju Manwani on Sunday in Mumbai. Several important issues were discussed there, how to better serve the Sindhi community. It also aims to increase Sindhiat and unite the community.
West Bengal Chapter has organized several programs in Kolkata in the past. Recently they organized an extraordinary program. A game show was held there to encourage Sindhi women. The event was a great success.
Aims And Objectives
- Promoting underprivileged and exceptional (deserving) Sindhi youth aspiring to join the IAS/ IPS cadre with financial assistance
- So far Gujarat is the only State in the Indian Union to have granted “Minority” status to us Sindhis. One of our aims will be to get similar “Minority” status in the remaining States of India as well
- Promotion of Sindhi Culture :
- Sindhi Language (reading, writing and speaking)
- Celebrating Sindhi festivals like Cheti Chand, Chalihi, Tijri, Gogo, Thadri, Mahalaxmi Sagra etc.
- Ensuring every school that has a minimum of forty (40) Sindhi students, should have the Sindhi language in its curriculum
- Encouraging Sindhi Students to take diploma in Sindhi language which will get them direct access to Civil Services
- Women empowerment
- Care for Sindhi Senior Citizens
- Financial assistance to underprivileged yet deserving Sindhi Students
- Assistance in getting Sindhi girls or marriageable to get married
- Restart participation of “Sindhi Tableau” (Jhanki) in the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi
- “Landless State” status for Sindhis
- Sindhi Academies in all state of India.
- Sindhi University
