50 years of Bhutan, road-show in Kolkata

SPT News, Kolkata, June 21: Bhutan organized a road-show in Kolkata today. Several tour operators of this state including Kolkata were present there. Bhutan is celebrating 50 years of tourism with a series of special events. Since 1974, when Bhutan first introduced tourism to the world, India has been one of Bhutan’s most important markets. Bhutan’s tourism department has launched a four-city roadshow in India with about 20 exhibitors. This day was in Kolkata.

Carissa Nimah, Chief Marketing Officer of Bhutan Tourism, Jay Saraogi of HT Representation Services, Chadar Wangdi of Bibbs Pvt Ltd, National Committee Member of Travel Agents Federation of India Anil Punjabi and Joyjit Ghosh and Parth Kanjilal of JPS Holidays were present at the road-show.

Bhutan is the last Vajrayana Buddhist country in the world and has many revered religious sites, from roadside stupas to temples, monasteries and nunneries. Bhutan has one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. You can enjoy natural abundance while coming here.

Bhutan has emerged as one of the top destinations for Indian travelers especially during the summer months. In fact, in May 2024, 19,212 Indian tourists visited Bhutan, a 100% increase over April and May. Indians are attracted to Bhutan’s rich heritage, spiritual offerings and its breathtaking natural beauty. The 4 City India Road Show is specially designed to provide industry professionals a unique opportunity to network, collaborate and expand their business horizons. The road shows will provide an excellent platform to connect with buyers from the corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) luxury and leisure segments, opening up new avenues of partnership and growth.
