এসপিটি ডিজিটাল ডেস্ক: মধ্যপ্রাচ্য ও দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার মধ্যে বিমান যোগাযোগ আরও জোরদার করতে বড় পদক্ষেপ নিল এয়ারএশিয়া। আগামী ২৭ আগস্ট থেকে বাহরাইন ও কুয়ালালামপুরের মধ্যে সপ্তাহে চার দিন সরাসরি বিমান পরিষেবা চালু করতে চলেছে সংস্থাটি। নতুন এই রুটের মাধ্যমে যাত্রীরা কুয়ালালামপুর হয়ে সহজেই লন্ডন গ্যাটউইক-সহ বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক গন্তব্যে সংযুক্ত হতে পারবেন।
এই পরিষেবার অনুমোদিত পরিবেশক (Authorized Distributor) হিসেবে Bahrain International Travel-এর নাম ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, নতুন এই পরিষেবা বাহরাইনের যাত্রীদের জন্য ভ্রমণকে আরও সহজ, সাশ্রয়ী এবং সুবিধাজনক করে তুলবে।
এয়ারএশিয়া জানিয়েছে, ১ নভেম্বর থেকে এই রুটে ফ্লাইটের সংখ্যা আরও বাড়িয়ে প্রতিদিন (Daily) পরিচালনা করা হবে। এর ফলে ব্যবসায়িক ভ্রমণকারী, পর্যটক এবং প্রবাসী যাত্রীদের জন্য নিয়মিত ও নির্ভরযোগ্য সংযোগ নিশ্চিত হবে।
সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় হল, কুয়ালালামপুরকে ট্রানজিট হাব হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে যাত্রীরা এশিয়া ও অস্ট্রেলিয়ার ১৩০টিরও বেশি গন্তব্যে নির্বিঘ্নে পৌঁছতে পারবেন। একই সঙ্গে এয়ারএশিয়ার প্রতিযোগিতামূলক ভাড়া এবং বিস্তৃত নেটওয়ার্ক আন্তর্জাতিক ভ্রমণকে আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে।
Bahrain International Travel জানিয়েছে, তারা স্থানীয় ট্রাভেল পার্টনার এবং গ্রাহকদের জন্য নিবেদিত পরিষেবা, সহজ বুকিং সুবিধা এবং এয়ারএশিয়ার সেরা অফার পৌঁছে দিতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। নতুন এই অংশীদারিত্বের ফলে বাহরাইন থেকে এশিয়ার বিভিন্ন জনপ্রিয় পর্যটন ও ব্যবসায়িক গন্তব্যে যাতায়াত আরও সহজ হবে বলে মনে করছে পর্যটন শিল্পের সংশ্লিষ্ট মহল।
পর্যটন বিশেষজ্ঞদের মতে, এই নতুন বিমান পরিষেবা শুধু বাহরাইন ও মালয়েশিয়ার মধ্যকার যোগাযোগই নয়, বরং মধ্যপ্রাচ্য, দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়া এবং ইউরোপের মধ্যে পর্যটন ও বাণিজ্যিক সম্পর্ককেও আরও শক্তিশালী করবে।

AirAsia to Launch Direct Bahrain–Kuala Lumpur Service from Aug. 27, Expands Gulf Connectivity
KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (SPT News) — AirAsia will begin operating direct flights between Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur from Aug. 27, expanding its presence in the Gulf region as the low-cost carrier seeks to strengthen air connectivity between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The airline said the route will initially operate four times a week, with services scheduled to increase to daily flights from Nov. 1 in response to anticipated demand from leisure, business and transit travelers.
The new service will provide passengers from Bahrain with seamless connections through Kuala Lumpur to more than 130 destinations across Asia and Australia, including onward access to London Gatwick via AirAsia’s expanding international network.
AirAsia said the additional capacity is expected to improve travel options for passengers while supporting tourism, trade and business links between Bahrain and Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur continues to serve as one of the airline group’s primary hubs, connecting travelers across the Asia-Pacific region.
Separately, Bahrain International Travel has been appointed as AirAsia’s Authorized Distributor in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The company will oversee local sales and distribution, providing booking support and promoting the airline’s products and services to travel partners and customers.
The launch comes as airlines across Asia and the Middle East continue to expand international operations amid sustained growth in regional travel demand. Industry analysts say Gulf markets have become increasingly important for Asian carriers seeking to capture both point-to-point traffic and long-haul transit passengers.
AirAsia has steadily broadened its international network in recent years, with the Bahrain route expected to further strengthen the carrier’s footprint in the Middle East while enhancing connectivity between the Gulf region and destinations across Asia and Australia.
The airline has not disclosed passenger capacity for the new route but said the expansion reflects its long-term strategy of improving affordable international connectivity and supporting the recovery of global tourism.
