- পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার রাজ্যের পর্যটন পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নে বিশেষ নজর দিচ্ছে। সম্প্রতি রাজ্যের পর্যটন মন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, সমুদ্রতীরবর্তী অঞ্চল, পাহাড় এবং জঙ্গল – এই তিনটি প্রধান ক্ষেত্রে পর্যটকদের জন্য নতুন আকর্ষণ তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। দিঘা, মন্দারমণি, তাজপুর সহ উপকূলবর্তী এলাকায় নতুন রিসর্ট, হোটেল এবং বিনোদনের ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে। একইভাবে, দার্জিলিং, কালিম্পং এবং ডুয়ার্সের প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যকে আরও ভালোভাবে তুলে ধরার জন্য পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হচ্ছে। সুন্দরবনের বাস্তুতন্ত্র এবং বন্যপ্রাণীর সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করে ইকো-পর্যটনের প্রসারেও জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
- পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন (WBTDC) উত্তরবঙ্গে নতুন কিছু ইকো-ট্যুরিজম সার্কিট চালু করার পরিকল্পনা করছে। এর মধ্যে কিছু অপ্রচলিত গন্তব্যকেও অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হচ্ছে, যা অ্যাডভেঞ্চার প্রিয় পর্যটকদের কাছে আকর্ষণীয় হবে। এই সার্কিটগুলিতে স্থানীয় সংস্কৃতি ও জীবনযাত্রার সঙ্গে পরিচিত হওয়ার সুযোগ থাকবে।
- আসন্ন দুর্গাপূজার জন্য কলকাতা সহ রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের জন্য বিশেষ পর্যটন প্যাকেজ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। এই প্যাকেজগুলিতে থিম পুজোর প্যান্ডেল পরিদর্শন, ঐতিহ্যবাহী বাড়ির পুজো দেখা এবং গ্রামীণ পূজা পরিক্রমার ব্যবস্থা থাকবে। আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণ করার জন্য এই প্যাকেজগুলিতে ইংরেজিভাষী গাইড এবং বিশেষ পরিবহনের ব্যবস্থা রাখা হয়েছে।

- রাজ্যের জনপ্রিয় পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলিতে প্রবেশ এবং বিভিন্ন আকর্ষণ উপভোগ করার জন্য অনলাইন টিকিট বুকিংয়ের সুবিধা আরও উন্নত করা হচ্ছে। এর ফলে পর্যটকরা লম্বা লাইনে দাঁড়ানো এড়াতে পারবেন এবং তাদের ভ্রমণ অভিজ্ঞতা আরও সহজ হবে।

- উত্তরপ্রদেশের পর্যটন শিল্পে উল্লেখযোগ্য বৃদ্ধি লক্ষ্য করা যাচ্ছে। ২০২৮ সালের মধ্যে পর্যটকদের আগমন ৮০ কোটিতে পৌঁছাতে পারে বলে অনুমান করা হচ্ছে এবং এই খাতটি রাজ্যের অর্থনীতিতে প্রায় ৭০,০০০ কোটি টাকা অবদান রাখবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। বিশেষ করে অযোধ্যা, বারাণসী, মথুরা এবং প্রয়াগরাজের মতো ধর্মীয় স্থানগুলোতে পর্যটকদের ভিড় বাড়ছে। ২০২৩ সালে এই রাজ্য ৪৮ কোটি পর্যটকদের স্বাগত জানিয়েছে।
- বৃহত্তর মুম্বাই মিউনিসিপ্যাল কর্পোরেশন (BMC) ২৪ থেকে ২৭শে জুলাই পর্যন্ত মুম্বাইয়ে চার দিনের উচ্চ জোয়ারের সতর্কতা জারি করেছে। এই সময়ে জোয়ারের ঢেউ ৪.৫ মিটারের বেশি হতে পারে, সর্বোচ্চ ৪.৬৭ মিটার শনিবার, ২৬শে জুলাই হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। নাগরিকদের সমুদ্রতীর এড়িয়ে চলার এবং নিরাপত্তা নির্দেশিকা মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।
- গোয়া সরকার রাজ্যের অভ্যন্তরের পর্যটন বাড়ানোর জন্য পরিকাঠামো এবং মানসম্পন্ন আবাসনের উপর জোর দিচ্ছে।
- ইউনাইটেড কিংডমের “ইন্ডিয়া ইয়ং প্রফেশনালস স্কিম” এর জন্য বিনামূল্যে ব্যালট আজ (২৪শে জুলাই ২০২৫) শেষ হবে। এই স্কিমের অধীনে ১৮ থেকে ৩০ বছর বয়সী ভারতীয়রা যুক্তরাজ্যে দুই বছর পর্যন্ত বসবাস ও কাজ করার সুযোগ পান।
একেবারে শেষে আসছি আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যটনের সেরা খবরে-
- পাঁচ বছর পর ভারত আজ থেকে চীনা নাগরিকদের জন্য পর্যটন ভিসা পুনরায় চালু করছে। ২০২০ সালের গালওয়ান সংঘর্ষ এবং কোভিড-১৯ মহামারীর কারণে এই ভিসা স্থগিত ছিল। বেইজিংয়ে অবস্থিত ভারতীয় দূতাবাস এই ঘোষণা করেছে এবং চীনা পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় এটিকে একটি “ইতিবাচক পদক্ষেপ” বলে স্বাগত জানিয়েছে। এটি ভারত-চীন সম্পর্ক স্বাভাবিকীকরণের দিকে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে এবং চীনের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির আগামী মাসে সাংহাই কো-অপারেশন অর্গানাইজেশন (SCO) সম্মেলনে সম্ভাব্য সফরের আগে এই সিদ্ধান্ত এসেছে।

- হালাল এবং মুসলিম-বান্ধব পর্যটন বাজার দ্রুত বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে, যা ২০২৩ সালে $২৫৬.৫ বিলিয়ন থেকে ২০৩২ সালের মধ্যে $৪১০.৯ বিলিয়নে পৌঁছানোর পূর্বাভাস দেওয়া হয়েছে। বিশ্বব্যাপী বিভিন্ন পর্যটন গন্তব্যস্থল এই বৃদ্ধির সুফল লাভের জন্য নানা উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করছে। ২০২৪ সালের প্রথমার্ধে আন্তর্জাতিক মুসলিম পর্যটকদের আগমন ছিল ৮০ মিলিয়ন, এবং এটি ২০২৮ সালের মধ্যে ২৩১ মিলিয়নে পৌঁছাতে পারে বলে পূর্বাভাস রয়েছে।
- কিছু অঞ্চলে তীব্র আবহাওয়া এবং প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের কারণে ভ্রমণের ব্যাঘাত ঘটছে। যেমন, চীনের পাঁচটি প্রধান বিমানবন্দরে ঝড়ের কারণে ২,০০০-এর বেশি ফ্লাইট বিলম্বিত এবং ৮৫টি বাতিল হয়েছে। একইভাবে, ইউরোপের ইতালি, ফ্রান্স, স্পেন এবং সুইজারল্যান্ডে ঝড় হ্যান্সের কারণে বন্যা ও তুষারধসের ঝুঁকি রয়েছে, যার জন্য উচ্চ সতর্কতা জারি করা হয়েছে।

We are first highlighting the top travel and tourism news from West Bengal, then India and finally the world.
Let’s come to West Bengal first. Some selected news from there-
- The West Bengal government is paying special attention to developing the tourism infrastructure of the state. Recently, the state’s Tourism Minister said that new attractions are being created for tourists in these three main areas – coastal areas, hills and forests. New resorts, hotels and entertainment are being arranged in coastal areas including Digha, Mandarmani, Tajpur. Similarly, steps are being taken to better highlight the natural beauty of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Dooars. Emphasis is also being placed on the promotion of eco-tourism by ensuring the protection of the Sundarbans ecosystem and wildlife.
- The West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC) is planning to launch some new eco-tourism circuits in North Bengal. Some of these are also being included in the offbeat destinations, which will be attractive to adventure-loving tourists. These circuits will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the local culture and way of life.
- Special tourism packages have been announced for different parts of the state, including Kolkata, for the upcoming Durga Puja. These packages will include visits to theme puja pandals, traditional house pujas and village puja parikrama. These packages will have English-speaking guides and special transport arrangements to attract international tourists.
- To encourage rural tourism, the state government is providing subsidies and other facilities to homestay schemes. - The tourism industry in Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a significant growth. Tourist arrivals are estimated to touch 800 million by 2028 and the sector is expected to contribute around Rs 70,000 crore to the state’s economy. Tourists are particularly flocking to religious places like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura and Prayagraj. The state welcomed 480 million tourists in 2023.
- The Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a four-day high tide alert in Mumbai from July 24 to 27. Tidal waves during this period are likely to exceed 4.5 metres, with a peak of 4.67 metres on Saturday, July 26. Citizens have been urged to avoid the seashore and follow safety guidelines.
- The Goa government is focusing on infrastructure and quality accommodation to boost tourism within the state.
- The free ballot for the United Kingdom’s “India Young Professionals Scheme” ends today (24th July 2025). Under this scheme, Indians aged 18 to 30 get the opportunity to live and work in the UK for up to two years.
Finally, here is the top news in international tourism –
- After five years, India is resuming tourist visas for Chinese nationals from today. The visas were suspended due to the 2020 Galwan clash and the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indian Embassy in Beijing announced this and the Chinese Foreign Ministry welcomed it as a “positive step”. It is being seen as an important step towards normalisation of India-China relations and the decision comes ahead of Chinese Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s likely visit to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit next month.
- According to the Hanley Passport Index-2025, the Singaporean passport has been rated as the most powerful passport in the world, allowing its holders to travel to 193 countries without prior visas. Japan and South Korea are in second place with 190 countries and Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain are in third place with 189 countries. The index highlights the increasing trend of visa-free travel opportunities for travellers worldwide.
- According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the contribution of the tourism industry to global GDP increased by 12.1 percent in 2024 and reached $11.1 trillion. This growth is 7.5 percent higher than in 2019. This indicates that the tourism sector is playing a significant role in the global economy. The industry is forecast to contribute $11.7 trillion to global GDP in 2025.
- The halal and Muslim-friendly tourism market is growing rapidly, forecast to reach $410.9 billion by 2032 from $256.5 billion in 2023. Various tourist destinations around the world are taking various initiatives to benefit from this growth. International Muslim tourist arrivals were 80 million in the first half of 2024, and it is forecast to reach 231 million by 2028.
- In some regions, travel is being disrupted due to severe weather and natural disasters. For example, storms at five major airports in China caused more than 2,000 flights to be delayed and 85 flights to be canceled. Similarly, there is a risk of flooding and avalanches due to Storm Hans in Europe, for which high alerts have been issued.
