Tourism Authority of Thailand & Thai Airways International organise a Destination Presentation & Reception in New Delhi

SPT News, New Delhi and Kolkata, May 24: India’s market is very important in the world of tourism. Especially near Thailand. This extraordinary country in the southeast got that proof in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandamic. After Covid, everything is back to normal and this year again the destination of Indians is now Thailand. In the last five months, Thailand has received that response from India. And so the Thailand Tourism Authority(TAT) has already taken the initiative to increase this trend for the rest of the year. Similarly, TAT and Thai Airways International recently organise a destination presentation and reception in New Delhi.

India was the fastest growing market in 2019

India is a country with a population of 134 crore covering a large part of Thailand’s tourism. Indians just love to travel. They are known as travelers. Every year a large number of Indians travel abroad. Thailand must be on their list of southeastern countries. India is one of the most important markets in Thailand. Before the Covid-19 pandamic, India was the fastest growing market in 2019. Thailand welcomed about two million Indians with a 25 percent increase that year and earned 86 million baht in revenue.

So far this year, Thailand has welcomed more than 82,420 Indian

Indians have started heading to Thailand since the beginning of this year. This trend is on the rise. The Thailand Tourism Authority has also started getting that indication. This year, from January 1 to May 19, 2022, Thailand has welcomed more than 82,420 Indians. TAT seeks to focus on rebuilding the Indian market with special emphasis on special interest groups with high costs. These include weddings and honeymoons, golf, millennials and work. In addition, Thailand is betting on India, which is largely among the top 5 markets in the state’s tourism industry. Thailand’s tourism authorities expect 5 lakh Indian visitors to travel to Thailand in 2022.

And so the Thai Tourism Authority has already taken steps to meet their targets this year. To celebrate the re-opening of Amazing Thailand with “Visit Thailand Year 2022” on May 16, 2022 in New Delhi and to launch the new campaign “Amazing New Chapter” Hosted the reception.

Also present was Mr Tanes Petsuwan – Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific)

The keynote speaker was Mr Tanes Petsuwan – Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific). The event began with a presentation of his destination. Who has updated about Indian travel trade and media, current tourism situation and SOP for Thailand tour. Mr Tanes also spoke about launching “Visit Thailand Year 2022”. TAT Deputy Governor, said, “Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapter. The ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022’ campaign focuses on three ‘amazing new chapters’ that invite travelers around the world to experience a deeper connection with the Kingdom’s unique culture and valuable environment.

75 years of Indo-Thai relations at the dinner reception

The Thailand Tourism Authorities did not fail to make the event more entertaining. For that they held a dinner reception there. It highlights 75 years of Indo-Thai relations. In the evening there was a Thai cultural performance with a gorgeous musical performance by Koh Mr Saxman, a world-renowned saxophone artist from Thailand. Mrs. Basudha Sharma, an Indian musician, joined Mr. Saxman in honoring Indo-Thai cultural ties. Guests enjoy an exhibition of Thai umbrella paintings and paper-cutting decorations, and enjoy some delicious Thai food.

To further promote Thailand as the perfect holiday destination, Tourism Authority of Thailand participated in South Asia’s leading event and trade show for travel & tourism industry- SATTE (South Asi’s Travel & tourism Exchange) from 18th-20th May 2022. This will be the 12th time TAT has participated in SATTE, to network with the Indian travel fraternity.
