The peninsula forms the entire southern tip of Malaysia, surrounded by the Johor coastline on three sides – the west coast, the Johor Strait to the south, and the east coast. Although well-known as the gateway to the nearby islands of Marsing, this small fishing town has a number of beautiful natural attractions of its own. The most interesting place is Pulau Mawar. Pulau Mawar is located north of the town of Marsing, a 30-minute walk from the city will take you to Pantai Mawar. Located very close to Gunung Arang, Pulau Mawar is a small restricted island that can only be reached on foot at low tide.

How to get there

It is about two and a half hours from Johor Bahru and 5 hours from Kuala Lumpur. If you travel from Marsing, it is only a 40 minute drive.
