SPT News, Kolkata, April 21: Moscow City Tourism Committee organized the first roadshow in India in Kolkata. To promote tourism and of course to tap the Indian market, they organized the roadshow at the Taj Bengal Hotel on Friday. There, Moscow City Tourism presented various information about their tourism. At the beginning of the event, in the speech of the chief guest, the Consul General of Russia in Kolkata, Alexey M. Idamkin spoke about the friendly relations between India and Russia. At the same time, ‘City of Joy’ referred to Kolkata as the cultural capital of India. Alexey also mentioned that Indian citizens are now provided with a 6-month tourist visa to visit Russia.

Then in 2019 visa applications increased. This is the showcase of the Moscow City Tourism Committee in India today makes Moscow a great destination. Russia has recently advanced towards a new vision. Now Indians can get a 6-month tourist visa. According to recent data, the number of Indian tourists in Russia is increasing. I see a lot of potential in our cooperation in terms of tourism.”

After that, Alexey highlighted the tradition of Kolkata and Bengal and said – Think of the great traditions of Kolkata and Moscow. There are museums, theaters, parks, monuments and many natural things to see. The 18th century Bengali theater was also mentioned by the Russian Consul General.

 

Olga Makarova presented the necessary information through a slide show

Olga Makarova, advisor, International Corporation Division, Moscow City Tourism Committee , presented several essential information about traveling to Moscow City and Russia. He disclosed some important information about visa through slide show. It is mentioned that tourist visas for Indians are now being given to 180 days. For this, the total fee is Rs 8,680 for single, Rs 12,568 for double and Rs 21,640 for multiple.

Russia can be traveled from three places in India. These are Kolkata, New Delhi and Ahmedabad. It takes 12 hours from Kolkata (1 transfer), 6.5 hours from New Delhi and 10 hours 45 minutes from Ahmedabad (1 transfer). said Olga.

Referring to the payment, he said – cash payment can be done through ruble. Also MIR payment can be made through card. ATMs are also open 24 hours a day. Also money exchange is available round the clock.

There are 42 five star hotels and 169 four star hotels to stay in Moscow. There are also three foodie hotspots – Cafe Pushkin, Matryoshka, Sibirsibir. There are four Indian restaurants – Darbar, Moscow-Delhi, Dhaba, Thali.

Veronika Aktasheva highlights the situation of flights traveling from India to Russia

Veronika Aktasheva, head of sales at Moscow International Airport Vnukovo, said at the roadshow today – There are many flights from India to Russia now. She said – Several airlines from India – Air India, Go-Air, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Vistara – are planning to fly to Russia. Now the first international partner is Turkish Airlines, followed by Fly Dubai. A total of 18 international airlines are their partners. The airport operates two hotels – DoubleTree by Hilton, with 432 rooms and Air Crew Hotel, with 107 rooms.

VKO is the closest airport to Moscow and the only airport in Russia with its own subway station which will open in 2023 i.e. this year and will be integrated into the terminal building.
