এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা , ৫ আগস্ট ২০২৬: থাইল্যান্ডের সমৃদ্ধ সংস্কৃতি, ঐতিহ্যবাহী রন্ধনশৈলী এবং বিশ্বমানের চলচ্চিত্রকে কলকাতার দর্শকদের সামনে তুলে ধরতে শুরু হতে চলেছে ‘Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026: Flavors, Films, Folklores & Friendships’। কলকাতায় অবস্থিত রয়্যাল থাই কনস্যুলেট-জেনারেল, ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইনস্টিটিউট অব হোটেল ম্যানেজমেন্ট (IIHM), কলকাতা, ট্যুরিজম অথরিটি অব থাইল্যান্ড এবং CPF India-র যৌথ উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এই উৎসব আগামী ৬ আগস্ট থেকে শুরু হবে।
আয়োজকদের দাবি, এই আয়োজন শুধু একটি সাংস্কৃতিক উৎসব নয়; বরং ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের দীর্ঘদিনের বন্ধুত্ব, পর্যটন, শিক্ষা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক বিনিময়কে আরও সুদৃঢ় করার এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদ্যোগ।
থাই ফুড ফেস্টিভ্যাল দিয়ে সূচনা
উৎসবের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান হবে ৬ আগস্ট IIHM গ্লোবাল ক্যাম্পাসে আয়োজিত Exclusive Thai Food Festival 2026-এর মাধ্যমে। এতে কূটনৈতিক মহল, সরকারি প্রতিনিধি, ব্যবসায়ী, পর্যটন শিল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তিত্ব, শিক্ষা জগতের প্রতিনিধি এবং গণমাধ্যমের সদস্যরা অংশ নেবেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে থাকছে থাইল্যান্ডের কনসাল জেনারেল সিরিপর্ন তান্তিপান্যাথেপ-এর উপস্থিতিতে লাইভ থাই কুকিং ডেমনস্ট্রেশন। পাশাপাশি কনসুলেটের শেফ ও IIHM-এর মাস্টার শেফ এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে পরিবেশিত হবে ঐতিহ্যবাহী থাই ডিনার। দর্শকদের জন্য থাকছে থাই লোকসংগীত, নৃত্য এবং সাংস্কৃতিক পরিবেশনা।
৭ থেকে ৯ আগস্ট থাই ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভ্যাল
উৎসবের দ্বিতীয় পর্ব হিসেবে ৭ থেকে ৯ আগস্ট কলকাতার সিনেপোলিস, অ্যাক্রোপলিস মল-এ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে দ্বিতীয় Thai Film Festival in Kolkata 2026।
এবারের চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবের মূল প্রতিপাদ্য “A Cinematic Journey Through Time & Scenery”। তিন দিন ধরে মোট সাতটি থাই চলচ্চিত্র বিনামূল্যে প্রদর্শিত হবে। চলচ্চিত্রগুলির মাধ্যমে থাইল্যান্ডের প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য, ইতিহাস, আধুনিক জীবনধারা এবং মানবিক গল্প দর্শকদের সামনে তুলে ধরা হবে।
দর্শকদের জন্য বিশেষ ‘Snap, Share & Win’ প্রতিযোগিতা
ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভ্যালকে আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে আয়োজকদের পক্ষ থেকে রাখা হয়েছে ‘Snap, Share & Win’ নামে একটি বিশেষ লাকি ড্র কর্মসূচি।
অংশগ্রহণের জন্য দর্শকদের প্রথমে অফিসিয়াল হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ চ্যানেলের মাধ্যমে বিনামূল্যে টিকিট সংগ্রহ করতে হবে। প্রদর্শনীর দিন ডিজিটাল টিকিট দেখানোর পর সিনেমা হল বা উৎসবস্থলে ছবি তুলে সেটি Facebook অথবা Instagram-এ #thaifilmkolkata2026 হ্যাশট্যাগ ব্যবহার করে প্রকাশ্যে পোস্ট করতে হবে।
প্রতিটি শো শেষে ১০ জন সৌভাগ্যবান বিজয়ীর নাম ঘোষণা করা হবে অফিসিয়াল হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ চ্যানেলে। বিজয়ীদের সরকারি পরিচয়পত্র দেখিয়ে উৎসবস্থলের নির্দিষ্ট কাউন্টার থেকে বিশেষ থাই উপহার সংগ্রহ করতে হবে।
পর্যটন ও সাংস্কৃতিক সম্পর্ক আরও দৃঢ় করার লক্ষ্য
আয়োজকদের মতে, Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026 কেবল একটি খাদ্য বা চলচ্চিত্র উৎসব নয়; এটি ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের জনগণের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক যোগাযোগ, পর্যটন সহযোগিতা, আতিথেয়তা শিক্ষা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক বিনিময়কে আরও গভীর করার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মঞ্চ।
বিশ্বখ্যাত থাই খাবারের স্বাদ, ঐতিহ্যবাহী শিল্প-সংস্কৃতি এবং সমসাময়িক থাই সিনেমার মাধ্যমে কলকাতার দর্শকদের কাছে থাইল্যান্ডকে নতুনভাবে তুলে ধরাই এই আয়োজনের মূল উদ্দেশ্য।

Thailand Brings Culture, Cuisine and Cinema to Kolkata with ‘Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026’

KOLKATA, India, Aug. 5 — Thailand will showcase its rich cultural heritage, world-renowned cuisine and contemporary cinema in eastern India through “Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026: Flavors, Films, Folklores & Friendships,” a four-day cultural initiative aimed at strengthening tourism and people-to-people ties between Thailand and India.
Organised by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata in partnership with the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Kolkata, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and CPF India, the programme will begin on Aug. 6 with a Thai food festival before continuing with the 2nd Thai Film Festival in Kolkata from Aug. 7 to Aug. 9.
The organisers said the initiative seeks to promote Thailand’s tourism, hospitality, culture and educational cooperation while celebrating the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
The opening event, Exclusive Thai Food Festival 2026, will take place at the IIHM Global Campus in Kolkata, bringing together diplomats, government officials, tourism stakeholders, business leaders, academics and media representatives.
Visitors will experience live Thai cooking demonstrations led by Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, alongside authentic Thai cuisine prepared by the Consulate’s chef in collaboration with IIHM master chefs and students. Traditional Thai dance, music and folklore performances will also be featured during the evening.
The celebrations will continue at Cinépolis Acropolis Mall with the 2nd Thai Film Festival in Kolkata, where seven Thai films will be screened free of charge under the theme “A Cinematic Journey Through Time & Scenery.”
The selected films highlight Thailand’s landscapes, history, contemporary society and human stories, offering Indian audiences a broader perspective on the country’s culture through cinema.
To encourage audience engagement, organisers have also launched a “Snap, Share & Win” campaign during the film festival.
Festival-goers who register for free tickets through the official WhatsApp channel, attend the screenings and publicly share photographs from the event on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #thaifilmkolkata2026 will be eligible for a lucky draw.
Ten winners will be announced after each screening through the official WhatsApp channel, with successful participants required to present a government-issued photo identification card before collecting their prizes.
Organisers said the combined food and film festivals are designed to provide Indian audiences with an immersive introduction to Thailand’s culinary traditions, cultural heritage and cinematic storytelling while reinforcing bilateral cooperation in tourism, hospitality and cultural exchange.
The event concludes with the campaign’s message:
“Taste Thailand. Watch Thailand. Experience Thailand. Fall in Love with Thailand.”
