এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা, ১৪ আগস্ট: কর্মক্ষেত্রে বৈচিত্র্য, সমতা ও অন্তর্ভুক্তি আরও জোরদার করার লক্ষ্যে রাজারহাট নিউ টাউনের ভেদিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্ট এবং ফাউন্ডেশন টু সামিটের মধ্যে সম্প্রতি একটি বিশেষ অংশীদারিত্ব স্বাক্ষরিত হল। এই উদ্যোগের মূল লক্ষ্য, প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের জন্য কর্মসংস্থান ও দক্ষতা বিকাশের সুযোগ তৈরি করা এবং সচেতনতা ও বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে তাঁদের সমাজের মূল স্রোতে আরও সক্রিয়ভাবে যুক্ত করা।
এই অংশীদারিত্ব স্বাক্ষরের অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ভেদিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্টের সহযোগী উপাধ্যক্ষ রাজীব রায় চৌধুরী, রিসর্টের মানবসম্পদ এবং প্রশিক্ষণ ও দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন বিভাগের সদস্যরা। ফাউন্ডেশন টু সামিটের পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কর্মসূচি বিভাগের অধিকর্তা মৌসুমি কর এবং ট্রাস্টি ও সভাপতি অমিত সেনগুপ্ত।
রাজীব রায় চৌধুরী বলেন, ভেদিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্টের পরিবেশবান্ধব ও টেকসই উন্নয়ন ভাবনার কেন্দ্রে রয়েছে মানুষ। তাঁর কথায়, অন্তর্ভুক্তি কোনও সাময়িক সামাজিক উদ্যোগ নয়, বরং টেকসই উন্নয়নের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভিত্তি। প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের জন্য কর্মক্ষেত্রে সুযোগ তৈরি করার মাধ্যমে রাষ্ট্রসংঘের টেকসই উন্নয়ন লক্ষ্যের ভাবনাকেও এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া সম্ভব।
তিনি আরও বলেন, প্রকৃতির জীববৈচিত্র্য যেমন পরিবেশকে সমৃদ্ধ করে, তেমনই মানুষের বৈচিত্র্য একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে আরও শক্তিশালী করে। একটি অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক কর্মক্ষেত্র শুধু ব্যবসার পক্ষে ইতিবাচক নয়, এটি দায়িত্বশীল আতিথেয়তা শিল্প এবং একটি টেকসই ভবিষ্যতেরও পরিচায়ক। ফাউন্ডেশন টু সামিটের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে এমন কর্মপরিবেশ গড়ে তোলাই তাঁদের লক্ষ্য, যেখানে প্রত্যেক মানুষকে সম্মান করা হবে এবং নিজের দক্ষতা ও প্রতিভা বিকাশের সমান সুযোগ দেওয়া হবে।
ফাউন্ডেশন টু সামিটের কর্মসূচি বিভাগের অধিকর্তা মৌসুমি কর বলেন, শিক্ষা, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন ও খেলাধুলার মাধ্যমে প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের ক্ষমতায়ন করাই তাঁদের অন্যতম প্রধান লক্ষ্য। কর্পোরেট সংস্থা, শিল্পোদ্যোগী এবং অন্যান্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে কাজ করে প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের জন্য আরও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক কর্মক্ষেত্র এবং দক্ষতা ও কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ তৈরি করতে তাঁরা আগ্রহী।
ভেদিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্টের সঙ্গে এই অংশীদারিত্বকে সেই লক্ষ্য পূরণের পথে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করে মৌসুমি কর বলেন, দুই প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক সমাজ গড়ে তোলার একটি অভিন্ন ভাবনা তৈরি হয়েছে। আগামী এক বছর ভেদিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্টের সঙ্গে বিভিন্ন ধরনের অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক কর্মসূচিতে যুক্ত থাকবে ফাউন্ডেশন টু সামিট।
এই যৌথ উদ্যোগের অন্যতম উল্লেখযোগ্য কর্মসূচি হতে চলেছে ‘স্বাধীনতা থেকে উৎকর্ষ’ নামে একটি বিশেষ ক্রীড়া আয়োজন। ভারতের স্বাধীনতা দিবস উপলক্ষে ১৫ আগস্ট ভেডিক ভিলেজ স্পা রিসর্টের ক্রীড়া প্রাঙ্গণে প্রতিবন্ধী ক্রিকেটারদের নিয়ে একটি বিশেষ ক্রিকেট প্রতিযোগিতা আয়োজনের পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে।
এই প্রতিযোগিতায় বিভিন্নভাবে সক্ষম এবং দৃষ্টিহীন ক্রিকেটারদের দল অংশ নেবে। একটি কর্পোরেট ধাঁচের ক্রিকেট প্রতিযোগিতার মাধ্যমে তাঁদের প্রতিভা ও দক্ষতা তুলে ধরার সুযোগ তৈরি করা হবে। খেলাধুলাকে মাধ্যম করে সামাজিক অন্তর্ভুক্তি, সমান সুযোগ এবং সকলের জন্য সহজলভ্যতার বার্তাই তুলে ধরবে এই আয়োজন।

Vedic Village Spa Resort and Foundation to Summit Forge Partnership to Advance Workplace Inclusion
SPT NEWS, KOLKATA: Vedic Village Spa Resort in Rajarhat New Town, Kolkata, and Foundation to Summit have entered into a special partnership aimed at strengthening diversity, equality and inclusion in the workplace and creating meaningful opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building more inclusive work environments through awareness, engagement, skill development and impactful programmes that enable persons with disabilities to participate more actively in mainstream society.
The partnership was formalised in the presence of Rajib Roy Choudhury, Associate Vice President, Vedic Village Spa Resort, along with members of the resort’s Human Resources and Learning and Development teams. Representing Foundation to Summit were Mousumi Kar, Director – Programmes, and Amit Sengupta, Trustee and President.
Rajib Roy Choudhury said Vedic Village Spa Resort’s sustainability approach places people at the heart of its environmental, social and governance priorities. He said inclusion was not merely a social initiative but an essential component of sustainable growth.
According to Choudhury, creating opportunities for persons with disabilities would also contribute to the broader objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He said a diverse workforce, much like biodiversity in nature, strengthens an organisation and makes it more resilient and future-ready.
He added that an inclusive workplace was not simply good for business but also represented responsible hospitality and a commitment to a sustainable future. Vedic Village Spa Resort, he said, aimed to create an environment where every individual was valued, empowered and given an equal opportunity to develop their abilities.
Mousumi Kar said Foundation to Summit was working towards empowering persons with disabilities through education, skill development and sports. The organisation is also looking to work with corporate organisations and entrepreneurs to promote inclusive workplaces and expand opportunities for skill development and employment.
Kar described the partnership with Vedic Village Spa Resort as an important step towards achieving that vision. She said both organisations had found common ground in their commitment to building a more inclusive society.
As part of the partnership, Foundation to Summit will work with Vedic Village Spa Resort on a series of inclusion-focused initiatives throughout the year.
One of the key programmes planned under the collaboration is ‘Freedom to Excel’, a special sporting initiative to be held on August 15 as part of India’s Independence Day celebrations. The programme will provide a platform for cricket teams comprising persons with disabilities and visually impaired cricketers to demonstrate their talent and sporting abilities.
The tournament is planned as a corporate-style cricket event at the sports turf of Vedic Village Spa Resort. Beyond competition, the initiative seeks to promote accessibility, equal opportunity and inclusion through sport.
‘Freedom to Excel’ is therefore intended to be more than a cricket tournament. It will provide an opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their abilities without barriers or restrictions and reinforce the message that talent and ambition should not be limited by disability.
The partnership between Vedic Village Spa Resort and Foundation to Summit marks a step towards creating more inclusive opportunities across workplaces and sporting spaces, while placing dignity, equal opportunity and participation at the centre of the initiative.
