এসপিটি নিউজ, বুদ্ধগয়া, বিহার, ১৬ সেপ্টেম্বর: শিক্ষা শুধু একটি শিশুর ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ে তোলে না, একটি সমাজের আগামী দিনকেও বদলে দিতে পারে। এই বিশ্বাসকে সামনে রেখে ভারতের সঙ্গে জনকেন্দ্রিক অংশীদারিত্ব আরও গভীর করার লক্ষ্যে বুদ্ধগয়ার পঞ্চশীল বিদ্যালয়ের সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিক্ষার্থীদের পাশে দাঁড়াল থাইল্যান্ড।
কলকাতায় অবস্থিত থাইল্যান্ডের রাজকীয় দূতাবাসের মহাবাণিজ্যিক দপ্তর এবং বুদ্ধগয়ার থাই মন্দিরের যৌথ উদ্যোগে পঞ্চশীল বিদ্যালয়ে একটি সমাজকল্যাণমূলক কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়। এই কর্মসূচিতে সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে বিদ্যালয়ের ব্যাগ, শিক্ষাসামগ্রী, প্রয়োজনীয় বিদ্যালয় সরঞ্জাম, শুকনো খাবার এবং পুষ্টিকর মধ্যাহ্নভোজ তুলে দেওয়া হয়।
এই উদ্যোগের মূল লক্ষ্য ছিল অর্থনৈতিকভাবে পিছিয়ে থাকা শিশুদের শিক্ষাজীবনে প্রয়োজনীয় সহায়তা প্রদান করা এবং তাদের শেখার সুযোগকে আরও সুগম করে তোলা। আয়োজকদের বক্তব্য অনুযায়ী, প্রতিটি শিশুর শেখা, বেড়ে ওঠা এবং নিজের সম্ভাবনাকে পূর্ণমাত্রায় বিকশিত করার অধিকার রয়েছে। প্রয়োজনীয় শিক্ষা-উপকরণ ও পুষ্টির সহায়তা সেই পথকে আরও সহজ করে দিতে পারে।
শুধু বিদ্যালয়ের প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী প্রদান নয়, এই উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে শিশুদের মধ্যে ভবিষ্যৎ সম্পর্কে আশাবাদ ও আত্মবিশ্বাস তৈরি করার বার্তাও দেওয়া হয়েছে। একটি শিশুর শিক্ষায় বিনিয়োগ তার ব্যক্তিগত ভবিষ্যতের পাশাপাশি পরিবার ও বৃহত্তর সমাজের উন্নয়নেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখতে পারে।
বুদ্ধগয়ার থাই মন্দিরের সামাজিক ভূমিকারও একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিক তুলে ধরেছে এই কর্মসূচি। বৌদ্ধধর্মের করুণা, দয়া ও উদারতার আদর্শকে সামনে রেখে মন্দিরটি দীর্ঘদিন ধরে স্থানীয় মানুষের সঙ্গে বিভিন্ন সমাজকল্যাণমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডে যুক্ত রয়েছে। ধর্মীয় ও সাংস্কৃতিক গুরুত্বের পাশাপাশি স্থানীয় সম্প্রদায়ের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর ক্ষেত্রেও মন্দিরটি ক্রমশ একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কেন্দ্র হিসেবে ভূমিকা পালন করছে।
বিশেষত শিক্ষা থেকে বঞ্চিত বা পিছিয়ে থাকা শিশু এবং আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল পরিবারগুলিকে সহায়তা করার মতো কর্মকাণ্ড স্থানীয় মানুষের সঙ্গে মন্দিরের সম্পর্ককে আরও গভীর করছে। শিক্ষা, সহায়তা ও মানবকল্যাণকে কেন্দ্র করে এই ধরনের উদ্যোগ স্থানীয় সমাজে পারস্পরিক আস্থা ও সৌহার্দ্য বৃদ্ধিতেও ভূমিকা রাখছে।
ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের সম্পর্কের ক্ষেত্রেও এই কর্মসূচির তাৎপর্য রয়েছে। দুই দেশের সম্পর্ক কেবল কূটনৈতিক যোগাযোগ বা অর্থনৈতিক সহযোগিতার মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। বৌদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য, সাংস্কৃতিক যোগাযোগ এবং মানুষের সঙ্গে মানুষের দীর্ঘস্থায়ী সম্পর্ক এই বন্ধনের অন্যতম ভিত্তি।
বুদ্ধগয়া সেই ঐতিহাসিক সম্পর্কের একটি বিশেষ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কেন্দ্র। গৌতম বুদ্ধের বোধিলাভের সঙ্গে যুক্ত এই পবিত্র ভূমি থাইল্যান্ডসহ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের বৌদ্ধ সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে অত্যন্ত শ্রদ্ধার স্থান। ফলে বুদ্ধগয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে শিক্ষা, সমাজকল্যাণ ও মানবিক সহায়তার মতো কর্মকাণ্ড দুই দেশের ঐতিহাসিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক যোগাযোগকে একটি নতুন সামাজিক মাত্রা দিচ্ছে।
শিক্ষার্থীদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর এই উদ্যোগ তাই কেবল একটি সমাজকল্যাণমূলক কর্মসূচি নয়; ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের মানুষের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক বোঝাপড়া, বন্ধুত্ব ও সহযোগিতার দীর্ঘ ঐতিহ্যেরও একটি প্রতিফলন।
শিশুদের শিক্ষা ও কল্যাণকে অগ্রাধিকার দিয়ে এই ধরনের উদ্যোগ ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য আরও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ও মানবিক সমাজ গঠনের পথকে শক্তিশালী করতে পারে। জনগণকে দুই দেশের সম্পর্কের কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে রেখে শিক্ষা, মানবকল্যাণ ও সাংস্কৃতিক বন্ধনের মাধ্যমে ভারত-থাইল্যান্ডের দীর্ঘস্থায়ী সম্পর্ক আরও বিস্তৃত হওয়ার সুযোগ তৈরি হচ্ছে।
বুদ্ধগয়ার পঞ্চশীল বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য আয়োজিত এই কর্মসূচি সেই বৃহত্তর সম্পর্কেরই একটি মানবিক প্রতিচ্ছবি—যেখানে কূটনীতির পাশাপাশি মানুষের জীবন, শিক্ষা এবং ভবিষ্যৎও হয়ে উঠছে দুই দেশের সহযোগিতার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ক্ষেত্র।

Thailand Strengthens People-Centred Partnership with India Through Educational Support in Bodh Gaya
SPT NEWS, BODH GAYA, Bihar: Thailand is strengthening its people-centred partnership with India through a community outreach initiative supporting underprivileged students at Panchsheel School in Bodh Gaya, a major Buddhist pilgrimage destination in eastern India.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata, in collaboration with Wat Thai Buddhagaya, organised the programme at the school, where students received school bags, educational materials, essential school supplies, dry food and nutritious midday meals.
The initiative reflects Thailand’s emphasis on education as a means of expanding opportunities for children and supporting their long-term development. By providing resources needed for learning, the programme seeks to help students continue their education while supporting their aspirations and wellbeing.
The outreach also highlights the expanding community role of Wat Thai Buddhagaya beyond its significance as a place of Buddhist pilgrimage. Inspired by Buddhist values of compassion, generosity and service, the temple has increasingly engaged with the local community through initiatives supporting education, disadvantaged families and children in need.
Bodh Gaya holds particular significance in the long-standing cultural and religious relationship between Thailand and India. The town is associated with the Buddha’s enlightenment and attracts Buddhist pilgrims from Thailand and other parts of the world.
Against this backdrop, community initiatives focused on education and social welfare provide another dimension to the relationship between the two countries, extending cooperation beyond diplomatic and cultural exchanges to direct engagement with local communities.
The programme also reflects the broader historical links between Thailand and India, which include centuries-old Buddhist connections as well as people-to-people exchanges. Education, human welfare and inclusive development have increasingly become areas through which such ties can be expressed at the community level.
For Thailand, supporting children through educational assistance is part of a broader approach that places people at the centre of bilateral engagement. For local communities in Bodh Gaya, such initiatives provide practical support to students and families while strengthening links with institutions associated with Thailand.
The outreach at Panchsheel School therefore represents both a community welfare initiative and a visible expression of the enduring friendship between Thailand and India, with education, compassion and people-to-people relations forming important elements of the partnership.
