Tamil Nadu is one of the favorite destinations of the people of Bengal among the states of South India. Acknowledging this, tourism official Ilangovan said that 50 per cent of the total tourists visiting their state are from Bengal. The rest are from other states.

Something about TTDC and Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) was incorporated in 1971 with the main objective of promoting tourism in Tamil Nadu through the construction of commercial tourism infrastructure. Tamil Nadu is an excellent tourist destination for many reasons. A multi-destination state. It has a glorious culture and history. Tamil Nadu has one of the oldest civilizations in the world. It is the abode of Dravidian art and culture which is characterized by its distinctive music and dance.

Mango festivals, tea festivals, music festivals, dance festivals, etc. have helped make Tamil Nadu very popular with tourists. More than 30,000 temples, attractive tourist attractions and dense forests, abundant wildlife, large mountain ranges and various geographical features are mentioned as “Temple Country” , Beaches, mountain resorts etc. Tamil Nadu illuminates one and all to see everything except the snow-capped peaks.

The Porjoton Mela 2022 was held in Kolkata from 10 June to 12 June. Tamil Nadu tourism appeared there with their product. For three days many people thronged the pavilion in Tamil Nadu. Many people have come. They have seen. Inquired. Some have even made plans to travel. In this context, Ilangovan, a Tamil Nadu tourism official, told Sangbad Prabhakar Times in this regard. He said the presence of tourists in Tamil Nadu in 2020 was very bad. Only 5-6 percent. Gradually the rate of tourist attendance is increasing. West Bengal played a big role in this. Because. This state is a very important market in Tamil Nadu. Many people from here visit all the tourist centers of Tamil Nadu every year. More than 50 per cent of the people who travel here travel from West Bengal. All other states together have the remaining 50 percent.

“The situation is much better now,” Ilangovan said. Progress is naturally upward. In the last two years, people have not been able to think of tourism. Because, Covid kept them locked in the room. Today the situation has changed. People have started leaving the house again. As a result, tourism is advancing now. Going to a better place than before.

Our main attraction is spiritual tourism. There is beach tourism. World famous monuments. There are a total of 45 monuments in India. Most of them are in Tamil Nadu. The hill place is Ooty.
