এসপিটি নিউজ, কলকাতা, ১০ মে: পশ্চিমবঙ্গের নতুন প্রশাসনিক অধ্যায়ের সূচনা যেন শুরু হয়ে গেল যুদ্ধকালীন তৎপরতায়। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার পরই শুভেন্দু অধিকারী যে বার্তা দিয়েছিলেন— “কথা কম, কাজ বেশি”, তার বাস্তব প্রতিফলন দেখা গেল মাত্র ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই। প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকের আগেই পুরোপুরি সেজে উঠল মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দফতর। তৈরি হয়ে গেল নতুন ‘টিম মুখ্যমন্ত্রী’।
রাজ্যের প্রশাসনিক কাঠামোকে দ্রুত গতিতে সক্রিয় করতে ইতিমধ্যেই একাধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নিয়োগ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক আইএসএস শান্তনু বালাকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রাইভেট সেক্রেটারি হিসেবে দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উপদেষ্টা পদে নিয়োগ করা হয়েছে অবসরপ্রাপ্ত আইএএস অফিসার ড. সুব্রত গুপ্তকে। সম্প্রতি বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে নির্বাচন কমিশনের সিনিয়র অ্যাডভাইজার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব সামলে তিনি বিশেষভাবে নজর কেড়েছিলেন।
এরপর আজ সকালে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দফতরে সিনিয়র ডেপুটি সেক্রেটারি পদে নিয়োগ করা হয়েছে সাতজন ডবল্যুবিসিএস (এক্সিকিউটিভ) আধিকারিককে। এই তালিকায় রয়েছেন সম্রাট চক্রবর্তী, অমর্ত্য চক্রবর্তী, অয়ন দত্তগুপ্ত, রাজর্ষি নাথ, সুরজিৎ রায়, প্রমিত দাস এবং দীপ ভাদুড়ি। প্রশাসনিক অভিজ্ঞতা ও দ্রুত সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণের দক্ষতার ভিত্তিতেই তাঁদের এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে বলে প্রশাসনিক মহলের মত।
শুধু তাই নয়, রাতের দিকেও আরও দুটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নিয়োগের খবর সামনে আসে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ক্যাডারের ২০১৯ ব্যাচের আইএএস অফিসার পি প্রমিত এবং ২০২০ ব্যাচের আইএএস অফিসার নভনিত মিত্তলকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দফতরে যুগ্মভাবে জয়েন্ট সেক্রেটারি পদে আনার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।
প্রশাসনিক সূত্রের খবর, আগামিকাল মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শুভেন্দু অধিকারী উচ্চ পর্যায়ের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈঠক ডাকছেন। সেখানে উপস্থিত থাকার কথা রাজ্যের শীর্ষ আইএএস ও আইপিএস আধিকারিকদের। আইনশৃঙ্খলা, প্রশাসনিক স্বচ্ছতা, দুর্নীতিমুক্ত শাসনব্যবস্থা এবং সাধারণ মানুষের কাছে দ্রুত পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দেওয়ার মতো একাধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ে নির্দেশ দিতে পারেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
রাজনৈতিক মহলের মতে, নতুন সরকারের প্রশাসনিক রূপরেখা কেমন হতে চলেছে, তার প্রথম স্পষ্ট ইঙ্গিত মিলল এই দ্রুত পদক্ষেপেই। বাংলাকে “সুস্থ, স্বাভাবিক ও দুর্নীতিমুক্ত” রাজ্যে পরিণত করার লক্ষ্যেই প্রশাসনিক কাঠামোকে নতুনভাবে সাজানো হচ্ছে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।

‘Talk Less, Work More’: Suvendu Adhikari Builds ‘Team Chief Minister’ Within 24 Hours
SPT News, Kolkata: West Bengal’s new administrative chapter appears to have begun with remarkable speed and urgency. Soon after taking charge as Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari’s slogan — “Talk Less, Work More” — has started reflecting in action within just 24 hours.
Even before the first major administrative review meeting, the Chief Minister’s Office has already been fully organized with a carefully selected team of IAS and WBCS officers. The newly formed administrative structure is expected to play a crucial role in governance, policy execution, and public service delivery over the next five years.
South 24 Parganas Additional District Magistrate Shantanu Bala (IAS) has been appointed as the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister. At the same time, retired IAS officer Dr. Subrata Gupta has been appointed as Adviser to the Chief Minister. Dr. Gupta recently served successfully as Senior Adviser to the Election Commission during the West Bengal Assembly elections.
In another major administrative move, seven WBCS (Executive) officers have been appointed as Senior Deputy Secretaries in the Chief Minister’s Office. The officers include Samrat Chakraborty, Amartya Chakraborty, Ayan Dattagupta, Rajarshi Nath, Surajit Roy, Pramit Das, and Dip Bhaduri.
Later in the evening, two additional IAS officers were also brought into the core administrative structure. P. Pramit of the 2019 batch and Navneet Mittal of the 2020 batch of the West Bengal cadre are set to be appointed jointly as Joint Secretaries in the Chief Minister’s Office.
According to administrative sources, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is expected to hold a high-level administrative meeting tomorrow with senior IAS and IPS officers of the state. Important discussions regarding law and order, transparent governance, corruption-free administration, and improved public services are likely to take place during the meeting.
Political observers believe that the rapid formation of the Chief Minister’s Office sends a strong message about the priorities of the new government. The administration appears focused on efficiency, accountability, and building a “healthy, stable, and corruption-free Bengal” in the coming years.
