এসপিতি নিউজ,কলকাতা, ১৭ সেপ্টেম্বর: শিক্ষা, মানবিকতা ও পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতার মধ্য দিয়ে ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের দীর্ঘদিনের বন্ধুত্বকে আরও সুদৃঢ় করার উদ্যোগ নিল কলকাতায় অবস্থিত রয়্যাল থাই কনস্যুলেট-জেনারেল। গত ১০ সেপ্টেম্বর বিহারের বৈশালীতে অবস্থিত চন্দসিরি বুদ্ধ বিহার বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বিভিন্ন শিক্ষা-সামগ্রী এবং বিদ্যালয়ের প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসপত্র প্রদান করা হয়।
এই উদ্যোগের মধ্য দিয়ে ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য শিক্ষাকে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিনিয়োগ হিসেবে দেখার থাইল্যান্ডের দীর্ঘদিনের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি আরও একবার প্রকাশ পেল। একই সঙ্গে শিক্ষা, মানবিকতা, করুণা ও সামাজিক উন্নয়নের ক্ষেত্রে ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের অভিন্ন মূল্যবোধও এই কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে সামনে উঠে এসেছে।
বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষকদের জন্য বিশেষভাবে প্রস্তুত করা বিদ্যালয়ের ব্যাগ, খাতা, কলম এবং জলখাবার প্রদান করা হয়। পাশাপাশি বিদ্যালয়ের নিয়মিত রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ ও উন্নয়নের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় বিভিন্ন সামগ্রীও তুলে দেওয়া হয়। আয়োজকদের মতে, এই সহায়তার মূল লক্ষ্য শুধু শিক্ষার্থীদের দৈনন্দিন শিক্ষাজীবনে সহায়তা করা নয়, তাদের মধ্যে শিক্ষার প্রতি আগ্রহ, আত্মবিশ্বাস ও ভবিষ্যতের স্বপ্নকে আরও শক্তিশালী করা।
অনুদান প্রদান অনুষ্ঠানে নেতৃত্ব দেন কলকাতায় নিযুক্ত থাইল্যান্ডের কনসাল-জেনারেল সিরিপর্ন তান্তিপান্যাথেপ এবং বৈশালীতে অবস্থিত ওয়াট থাইয়ের প্রধান ভিক্ষু প্রাকরু সিদ্ধিপ্রিয়তিভিদেস। অনুষ্ঠানে বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী, শিক্ষক এবং স্থানীয় সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতিনিধিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
বক্তব্যে কনসাল-জেনারেল সিরিপর্ন তান্তি পান্যাথেপ বলেন, করুণা, উদারতা এবং শিক্ষা বুদ্ধধর্মের মৌলিক মূল্যবোধগুলির অন্যতম। এই মূল্যবোধই ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের মানুষের মধ্যে দীর্ঘদিনের সম্পর্ককে আরও অর্থবহ করে তুলতে পারে। তাঁর বক্তব্যে উঠে আসে, দুই দেশের বৌদ্ধ ঐতিহ্যকে কেবল সংরক্ষণ করাই নয়, সেই ঐতিহ্য থেকে উদ্ভূত মানবিক মূল্যবোধকে মানুষের জীবনমান উন্নয়নের বাস্তব কর্মসূচির সঙ্গে যুক্ত করাও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
তিনি আরও বলেন, শিক্ষা এবং তরুণ প্রজন্মের ক্ষমতায়নের মাধ্যমে নতুন প্রজন্মের মধ্যে জ্ঞান, সৃজনশীলতা, আত্মবিশ্বাস ও আশার বিকাশ ঘটানো সম্ভব। সেই পথেই ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের মানুষের মধ্যে বহু শতাব্দী ধরে গড়ে ওঠা বন্ধুত্বের সম্পর্ক আগামী দিনে আরও গভীর হতে পারে।
বৈশালীর চন্দসিরি বুদ্ধ বিহার বিদ্যালয় দীর্ঘদিন ধরে সামাজিক ও শিক্ষাগতভাবে পিছিয়ে থাকা শিশুদের শিক্ষা ও বিভিন্ন সুযোগ প্রদানের কাজ করে আসছে। বিদ্যালয়ের এই উদ্যোগকে থাইল্যান্ডের পক্ষ থেকে শিক্ষা, সামাজিক অংশগ্রহণ এবং পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতার মাধ্যমে অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ও দীর্ঘস্থায়ী উন্নয়নের ভাবনার সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।
থাইল্যান্ডের সঙ্গে ভারতের সম্পর্কের ক্ষেত্রে বৌদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সেতুবন্ধন হিসেবে কাজ করে আসছে। বুদ্ধের জীবন, বাণী ও বৌদ্ধ ঐতিহ্যের সঙ্গে ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের মানুষের সম্পর্ক বহু শতাব্দী পুরোনো। সেই ঐতিহ্যকে কেন্দ্র করে শিক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি ও মানবিক সহযোগিতার বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ দুই দেশের জনগণের পারস্পরিক যোগাযোগকে আরও বিস্তৃত করছে।
কলকাতায় অবস্থিত রয়্যাল থাই কনস্যুলেট-জেনারেল জানিয়েছে, পূর্ব ভারতের বিভিন্ন স্থানীয় অংশীদারের সঙ্গে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে কাজ করে শিক্ষা ও সামাজিক উন্নয়নের সুযোগ আরও সম্প্রসারিত করার পাশাপাশি দুই দেশের বৌদ্ধ ও সাংস্কৃতিক সম্পর্ককে আরও শক্তিশালী করার প্রচেষ্টা অব্যাহত থাকবে। আগামী প্রজন্মের কল্যাণকে সামনে রেখে ভারত ও থাইল্যান্ডের দীর্ঘদিনের বন্ধুত্বকে আরও গভীর করাই এই ধারাবাহিক উদ্যোগের অন্যতম লক্ষ্য।

Thailand-India Ties Strengthened Through Educational Support in Bihar
Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata donates school supplies to Chandrasiri Buddha Vihara School in Vaishali

SPT NEWS, KOLKATA, Sept. 17: The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata has reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to education, compassion and people-to-people ties between Thailand and India by providing school supplies and essential materials to Chandrasiri Buddha Vihara School in Vaishali, Bihar.
The assistance was provided on Sept. 10 as part of an initiative aimed at supporting students and teachers while strengthening the role of Buddhist institutions in education, cultural exchange and community development.
The donation included specially prepared school bags, notebooks, pens and snacks for students and teachers, along with materials required for the continued maintenance and improvement of the school.
The initiative reflects Thailand’s emphasis on education as an important investment in the future and highlights shared values between Thailand and India, particularly in the areas of education, compassion, cultural understanding and social development.
The programme was led by Siriporn Thanti Panyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, and Phra Kru Sitthipriyattivides, the chief monk of Wat Thai Vaishali. Students, teachers and members of the local community also attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Consul-General Siriporn said Buddhist engagement between Thailand and India extends beyond preserving their shared religious and cultural heritage and also involves translating Buddhist values into practical initiatives that can improve people’s lives.
She highlighted education and youth empowerment as important areas through which knowledge, creativity, confidence and hope can be encouraged among younger generations. Such initiatives, she said, can also contribute to strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship between the peoples of Thailand and India.
Chandrasiri Buddha Vihara School has been working to provide education and opportunities to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Vaishali. Its focus on educational and social development aligns with the Consulate-General’s efforts to promote sustainable and inclusive development through education, community engagement and people-to-people interaction.
Buddhist heritage has long served as an important link between India and Thailand, with centuries-old cultural and religious connections continuing to shape people-to-people relations between the two countries.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata said it remains committed to working closely with local partners across eastern India to expand educational opportunities, strengthen Buddhist and cultural ties and deepen the longstanding friendship between Thailand and India for the benefit of future generations.
